Good quality product, very satisfied
I decided to spend a little more and make this a one-time replacement on my driver-side Chevy Astro window. The old motor had finally failed with the window down a couple inches--it was definitely time to replace this motor! I had some help from the same mechanic who had rolled the window down while doing another repair (Doh!), and he said it was not the switch, and that the regulator rarely failed on this model.I recommend that you watch a video on YouTube on how to do it, but this repair is relatively straight-forward. On my 1998 model, the motor had been replaced before, so I was just updating someone else's work. Thus I did not have to drill out any rivets. The motor came supplied with 4 8-32 machine screws with star washers and nuts. However, getting behind the bracket with nuts is quite a difficult trick. Instead, I endorse a tip I found on one of the videos--use #10 self tapping (sheet metal) screws, 1/2" length, preferably with a hex head. Use an impact driver to install them. They are a tight fit in the motor mount holes, but the impact driver makes short work of that, and they pull up nice and tight on the regulator bracket (go easy, don't over-torque them). Be careful not to drill out the regulator holes too much when removing the rivets; the holes must be smaller than 0.190 so the screws can cut some thread. The motor shaft extends beyond the gear a bit--seat that in the hole in the regulator, then rotate it until the hole pattern lines up, and install the four fasteners. On the Astro van, all I needed were the "GM Door Panel Clip". The other suggested panel faster was not needed, and it may be an alternate type that does the same job. You may not even need to replace any of these, if you remove the door carefully. GM Door Panel Clip (Qty: 25) Gripper Box # 2191T by PDQI do not detect any excessive noise with this motor, it just sounds like a window motor to me. I liked seeing that there is some thermal protection built into the assembly, given the repair history on this window. Once the window is up, the motor cuts off nicely, does not appear to strain at the end at all. It just closes tight and shuts off, without any special adjustment required. Perfect.

All I can say is stick with ACDelco for your chev since it seems to hold up the best. Any time I've tried to save money and ...
Can't go wrong with an ACDelco part. I've had my 98 camaro since Oct of 97 so after 20yrs, with all original parts, I can't complain when parts start breaking down. For about a year, I haven't used my windows due to issues with putting the windows back up. They would eventually go back up but there were a few times I thought they wouldn't. After pricing both windows to be replaced by a professional, which was highway robbery, I decided to do it myself. Do yourself a favor and watch a few youtube videos that go step by step through the process. There is a trick with the factory fasteners that can be drilled out, one of the videos on youtube shows the exact locations, follow that video to a T and you wont have any problems. The first one you do with take a little bit as you don't want to drill out the wrong fastener. The second one you do will be a breeze. Now for the part itself. I've had it replaced for the past 5-6months now with no issues at all. All I can say is stick with ACDelco for your chev since it seems to hold up the best. Any time I've tried to save money and go with an aftermarket part, I ended up having to replace it shortly after installing it.

What a difference in window operation.
It is a hard job on a 1994 series camaro to remove and install the window regulator/motor mechanisim. But it was well worth while. The window is way faster now going up and down and doesn't stop and make me wait till it cools down 5 times before I get it up. I only did passenger door side, but will do drivers soon. Amazon asked me to rate 'Ease of Install" and I just could not as the job is difficult, but necessary and worth it. Some very good youtube videos on how to do this job. I personally disgarded all that had you drill out holes in door. Its unnecessary and can be done with a little patience and a friend helping to pull window up or down to get roller off tracks, plus some door stops for window wedges to hold in place. DO NOT let window drop as it can break or seriously damage your hand/wrists if they are in way. I love the AC Delco professional products as they are as good or better than stock parts and I have never had a bad one. Thanks

It works 2000 trans am driver window
I took the path of most resistance and drilled all rivets and removed entire assembly from door. Installed it all back together and it works it has an audible clicking noise as the teeth of the gears engage. Assuming they arent meshing perfectly. But it works.

Works much better than the OEM motors
I bought this motor for the passenger side window on my 4th gen Trans Am. The old motor was very slow from when the car was new and eventually would only move the window in small steps, the problem becoming worse in hot weather. Due to some helpful tips on the Internet, it was surprisingly easy to fit this new motor. The window then moved as quickly as the driver's side. Somewhat unexpectedly, during some very hot weather, the driver's side motor failed in the same way a week later. Replaced it with another ACDelco motor and now they both work perfectly. I did not use the nuts and bolts provided in the kit as they would have been very fiddly to install with the regulator still inside the door. I was lazy and just used 3/16" pop rivets which seem to work perfectly.

broke in 1 day
I installed this window motor myself. I've owned 3 chevy astros and have changed one or two window motors on each of 3 vans. It went up and down 2-3 times and then stopped. You can hear it click in the motor each time you press the open or close button but doesn't move anymore. Total piece of junk. Lessons learned. Buy from local auto parts store where you can take it back.

OEM replacement for Camaro window motor
I used this to replace the factory window motor in my '00 Chevrolet Camaro. The install is a bit complicated through no fault of AC Delco. Best watch a video on how to do it. Motor does come with screws and nuts, but I recommend using Nyloc nuts or Loctite to ensure the motor doesn't go anywhere. The plug on the motor is white instead of black on the original, but the plug fits perfectly. Total install on a 4th gen F-Body is about an hour.
