Red powder coat finish is applied over poorly prepared metal. I planned to paint it black and discovered rust at some welds so I stripped it and discovered minor surface rust in several areas. Other than that, it’s a very rugged can mount.

The base is great! Well Built. I would've given it five stars but the strap basin with it is useless. Plan on buying a small ratchet strap at your local hardware store. I did find it amusing there was a sticker that said do not use near flammable liquid.

Very expensive! Not the vest holder for fuel but looks good.

The strap is questionable for the way it hooks onto the base then to secure the can. Also... where is the mounting hardware with this? I feel it should totallly be included. I got this as a gift so im not sure I'll be keeping it as I feel there are better products out there.

Product seems nice enough. The sticker makes me not trust it though.

So the description says black and red. Ooops. But one of the questions was is it black or red. Someone claiming to be a manufacturer assures us that it is indeed black and professes the part number to reassure us. So, I took the gamble red or black kind of like roulette. Only the odds being tilted towards black (like I was hoping for). But no, IT IS RED. Additionally, this gas can holder comes with a warning label. "NOT FOR USE WITH FLAMABLE LIQUID". Go figure, a black gas can holder that's red and doesn't hold gas cans!

Straps are a joke. There are no mounting points for straps or ratchet straps or bungee chords anywhere except on the rear of the mount - this is truly a cheap product that requires a lot of custom work to use with something as simple as fuel cans.

Heavy gauge steel top or bottom mounting options. But the strap that comes with it is garbage. If you trust your jerry can to that, you deserve to lose it.
