Flawless, the Lamy fountain pen flows fluidly, facilitating fine, fluid writing. Its form factor feels fantastic in hand, fostering fantastic penmanship. Filling the ink is fuss-free, fostering frequent and fluid writing sessions. A fashionable design further enhances its functionality, making it a favourite among fountain pen enthusiasts. Finding such a fine, fabulous pen is a fortunate discovery for any writer.

Not the first Lamy pen I’ve bought, and it won’t be the last. Lovely to hold, a beautiful colour, easy to change cartridges (and there are some great compatible ones out there as well as Lamy’s own) and, most importantly, is simply a delight to write with. Highly recommended.

As the title suggest, great entry into the world of fountain pens. But nothing particularly great to shout about. Box came dented, pen was fine. Loving the colour tho.

Having shunned Lamy for years for their hit-and-miss nib quality, I was pleased to find their latest pens a big improvement. I’ve recently bought two Safaris and now this Al Star, and they have all come with well-tuned nibs still with traces of blue ink from quality control testing.It is a fairly large pen which can post for people with bigger hands, but is lightweight enough that this doesn’t hurt the balance. The modest weight means it’s perfect for long writing, less hand fatigue. The ink windows in the barrel are a nice feature, letting you see how much ink you have left without having to unscrew the barrel. The cap seals well with a satisfying click, and keeps the nib wet, so no hard starts. As a bonus, the generous tipping on these nibs means they’re great for getting started with custom grinds. I’ve modified mine to a cursive italic and it’s a great pen to write with.The main downside is that like the Safari, the grip section is contoured triangular for a tripod grip. This may be uncomfortable if you are accustomed to holding your pen in a different way. I typically like to grip closer to the nib than this pen will comfortably allow, so I have had to adapt accordingly. However, it does work fine for left handers as well as right-handers, as this Southpaw can attest.

Lamy pens are expensive but this was slightly less than in some stationers. they are designed to fit well in the hand and the nib glides smoothly over paper.

If you like fountain pens the you know about these pens. This based on the Lamy Safari so there is guide for your fingers. The bronze colour is a limited edition (there are plenty of them though!) It is an Aluminium barrel that takes a proprietary Lamy cartridge (or a Lamy converter… which I recommend).I bought it for a student… he is more than happy.

I've had a Lamy for 12 years, it was the best, robust, reliable any time, great and easy writing, etc... I wanted a new one with a different color, and I'm very disappointed with the new one.If I don't use it for 2 or more days, the pen is dry, and no way to write anything; I need to clean it with water and re-initiate with new ink.So, I don't use it. Not reliable.I won't definitively buy a Lamy again

Esta es una pluma lamy más gruesa en el tapón y con cuerpo metálico pero no pierde ligereza y finura. Es bonita y muy fina en su escritura, la tinta se desliza muy bien. Súper recomendable y muy bien de precio!!
