Does not Fit All Chevy Trucks
Make sure when you order this, it is for an Avalanche or another truck with the same specs or the hangers will not match up, and if you try to make it fit, it will rub against your spare tire. If you want one that will fit a larger truck check out the model number 5003.

Perfect mellow sound, and well built!
Ordered this exhaust system for my 2004 Suburban Z71. I was super concerned with in cabin drone at highway speeds, and didn't want to deal with annoyed stares whenever I started my truck up. I've been pleasantly surprised in all aspects of this exhaust system. The build quality is definitely up to par, and the sound is incredible. At start up, I've got a nice sounding rumble, but once the idle settles down, it quiets down quite a bit. Don't buy this system if you're looking for a LOUD truck, but for those of us who are over the whole straight piped as loud as you can get exhaust systems, this is the perfect solution. The system has an incredibly refined sound, with no raspy sound coming out of the 5.3.One issue run into on install for the Z71 suburban is that there is an exhaust cut out on the passenger side behind the rear tire for the stock exhaust, but of course not on the drivers side. This led to a need for an adjustable hanger to get the two exhaust tips positioned just right, but it came close and looks nice. The dual chrome tips look excellent, and appear to be well built, which should mean long lasting.Overall, no regrets in purchasing this system, and for the price, it cannot be beat. I've had Flowmaster, Magnaflow, and Borla exhaust systems on other vehicles, and I have to say this is the best sounding exhaust I've found by far. Power levels seem to have increased, as this in combination with a cold air intake and a tune have seemed to keep the Suburban from downshifting going up long hills. I believe I will look into buying the Gibson headers next, as the Suburban is kind of a dog with the 5.3 and I'll take anything I can get for a little more power.

Unbeatable Quality/Price
This exhaust was purchased for my 2004 Chevy Avalanche. This product is of great quality and sound. It is a perfect fit for this vehicle with all pipes and clamps lining up PERFECTLY! Instalation was straight forward and accurate. The most difficult part of installing this product actually had nothing to do with the product itself, it was the headache of removing the old factory exhaust. You can very easily install this exhaust yourself if you have your own automobile lift (which I have), or according to the instructions, you can install it using a jack with stands. (It seems that this way would be very difficult to do since the old exhaust must be cut and maneuvered in an awkward way to be removed, also jack stands don't seem to provide enough ground clearance)Here are a few tips for installation:1) replace the supplied nuts with lock-nuts (all of the vibration associated with everyday driving conditions will loosen them over time otherwise)2) pick up 2" flange bolts (it's highly probable the original ones will break)3) use a torch to heat up the flange (the old nut and bolts will come off easier)4) remove the spare tireThe sound rumbles upon starting. It is mild while in park/neutral, but aggressive while driving. Enjoy!

crapy deal
this is the worst system you could buy it didn't last three years. very cheap and not what I expected . pipes rusted off and so much for aluminized piping .bad deal regardless off the warranty. this is junk and it shouldn't be sold through amazon .I had a flow master exhaust on my bronco it lasted 18 years I will never buy a Gibson exhaust again.

Gibson Dual Extreme
The media could not be loaded. ย I installed this exhaust on a 2005 Chevy Avalanche, with a 5.3l V8. All the pieces were well made and easily fit together. Install was a breeze, especially seeing as when I got to the garage where I work I realized that I had forgotten the directions at home. All of the hangers lined up perfectly and the pipes fit where they were supposed to without issue. The only set back I had was getting the nuts off of the flange bolts. That was solved by taking a torch and warming them up cherry red, then using an air ratchet and they came right off. I put a little never-seaze on when I put it back together. The easiest way to deal with the old exhaust is to make one cut with a sawz-all just ahead of the axle the it comes out easily in two pieces. I didn't totally remove the spare tire but I did let it hang which made things much easier. All in all the exhaust sounds great and as stated went together easily without a problem. Definitely recommend to anyone with a similar truck looking for a nice exhaust note without being obnoxious. :)

The sound is perfect! Nice deep tone like that of a new ...
The installation took a bit to get the old system off, you must cut it into two pcs even with a hoist. It was a snap to install the new. Please take time to measure your tail pieces and tips to be sure it is the same on both sides. The sound is perfect ! Nice deep tone like that of a new Vette but completely quiet in the cab. Very, very pleased with this system and with the price. Don't be afraid to tackle it yourself. It took me less than 1 hour total. The most difficult part was getting the old flange bolts out, even with heat. I purposely just snapped them off and drove the heads thru the flange. I bought new hardened bolts locally. Go for it !

Easy to install
Installed on a 2000 Suburban 1500 4WD. Overall installation was easy, with one small catch: the model I have came with a (long disabled) load-leveling system. The air pump for that load leveling system interfered with one of the hangers on the kit. It had to be relocated slightly to have a good fit. I don't consider that a shortcoming of the kit, however - it is well made and well designed. The sound is nice, but not obnoxious. I am quite pleased.
