Biblcal based study, perfect for these pandemic times
My bible study of six women, all in our late 30s and early 40s, just completed this 9 week study. We loved that it was entirely based on a book of the bible, Philippians. The author adds just enough personal stories and explanations to help you apply the lessons without filling up too much space with non-biblical information. We found this study to be very encouraging and uplifting, especially during these pandemic times. The homework is manageable, 20-30 minutes, 4-5 days a week, and very helpful to understanding the book of Philippians and growing in Christ.

Reminds us of what Joy really is.
I’d like the questions that followed the scripture readings. I would have liked an answer God included. I did this study on my own and that would’ve been helpful to ensure that I was understanding things correctly.

Great study
Melissa Kruger will not disappoint. This was a great study for my group. We are all different stages in our walk but there were important lessons for each of us. Highly recommend.

Great format for individual or group study
I bought this book to do a personal study of Philippians. I am familiar with Melissa Kruger, having read her other books, and appreciate her sound doctrine and perspective as a (reformed) Christian wife and mother. This book actually contains all of the Scripture references, so if you are doing the study at work or elsewhere, it's easy to use on its own. There are questions for days 1-4 and a devotional pertaining to the passage on the fifth day of each week. Highly recommend!

Good content but belabored
This is designed as a nine-week study of Philippians, with the first week dedicated to passages in Acts and weeks 2-9 moving through all the chapters in Philippians. Each week is divided into 5 days of study, grouped around four topics:- Observation, What does the text say?- What does the text mean?- How does the text transform me?- DevotionalI found the bulk of the time was committed to the first two, around the text itself. Here's where the review is a bit difficult to write. The content is largely very good and allows the reader to tease apart passages to get to the meaning. Where it didn't work for me was regarding the pace, particularly days 4/5 of the weekly study. I was glad I was doing the study with a group of women so I had accountability each week. If I didn't have that weekly gathering where we discussed the material, I think I could have gotten bogged down and (potentially) not finished it. I'm sure for true bible scholars, people could spend years studying it, but for this layperson I found there to be some basic themes and lessons that this study belabored more than was necessary.

Uncovering the secret to unshakeable joy and peace in Scripture
Melissa Kruger's latest book, In All Things, traces Paul's conversion narrative in Acts and the subsequent epistle he penned to the young, Philippian church. Through her devotional presentation of relevant scriptures, Kruger recounts how Paul's words and life helped convey the secret to unshakeable joy and peace -- even during some of the toughest times of trial and suffering.Early in the first chapter of In All Things, she shared a wonderful quote from the good doctor, D. Martyn Lloyd Jones: "If ever the world needed the witness and testimony of Christian people it is at this present time. The world is unhappy, it is distracted and frightened, and what it needs is to see stars shining out of the heavens in the midst of the darkness, attracting the world by rebuking that darkness, and by giving it light, showing how it too can live that quality of life."

Inductive Bible study
This is my first study by Melissa and I just love it. I read her envy of Eve book, loved it and thought I'd try her new study. I like the size, her approach and everything. The first day is basic observation and each next day uses a different questions method. I feel like this is a really good approach. I found that most days it took 15 minutes. I find myself thinking about the material through out the day. I can't wait for her next study.

Thought provoking
Great study in the book of Philippians. It reminds us who we are in Christ and how we should live in light of that

Book arrived damaged.
While the book itself is great, the shipping was not. My book arrived with what appears to be multiple cuts from possibly a box cutter. One cut goes through the cover as well as 3 of the pages underneath. Another cut along the binding does not go all the way through, but is definitely a large cut. This is not an acceptable state for a brand new book to arrive.
