ACROBOTIC WeMos ESP8266 D1 Mini DHT-22 Temperature/Humidity Sensor Shield for Arduino NodeMCU Raspberry Pi Wi-Fi IoT DHT22

So... it technically works, so I couldn't leave one star. But this is woefully, horribly inaccurate.I currently have this hooked up to a WeMos D1, sitting directly next to four other temperature/humidity sensors of different brands. They've all been sitting next to each other on a shelf for at least 24 hours.Temperature - the others all currently read 71.5F/21.9C to 72.3F/22.4. This one reads 73.5F/23.1C.Humidity - the others all currently read between 50.13 and 51.67 % RH. This one is reading 41.6% RH.I suppose a temperature reading that's off by a degree or two F at normal room temperature. But a RH reading that's off by 10% RH... i.e. off by 25% of the reading... is completely unacceptable, especially for the application I need.I'd never buy one of these again. The fact that it comes on a sensor shield is handy, but the sensor is useless. I'm ordering some different sensors instead.

The PCB shield is nice, the header/pin extras are generous... I'm having trouble recommending the DHT-22 sensor, though. Supposedly it is mid-tier, but it seems like manufacturing variability of the *sensor* is difficult to deal with. The one that came with the shield read 6c/10f too high and the humidity always read 99.9%. I tried replacing it with another DHT-22 from a different source... which was only half as much too high and had a working(?) humidity component that at least didn't read something unbelievable. Both sensors were branded ASAIR and some people claim that others(AOSONG?) are better, but you never know what "flavor" of sensor you'll be sent. I feel like you'd need to buy like 5 of the sensors to win the lotto, and at that price, you might want to just buy a higher tier sensor.

I purchased 6 of these and none of them work. Looking at the back, it seems that when the sensors were soldered on, the boards were damaged. I've tried all 6 with multiple ESP8266 and none of them will get a reading.
