ActiveWrap Shoulder Ice Pack Wrap, Large/X-Large – Includes 2 Reusable Hot & Cold Gel Packs for Rotator Cuff Cold Therapy, Ice Shoulder Wrap with Adjustable Compression for Post-Surgery Recovery

I am currently using this to ice my shoulder having undergone rotator cuff muscle repair 2 weeks ago. I showed up at my surgeon's office wearing it and he said, "That's absolutely a great way to ice." It's very convenient having 2 sets of ice packs. It fits snugly, and I actually have better and more comfortable support for my shoulder and arm than in the sling issued to me after surgery. I find that this contains my arm successfully and I am prevented from doing any movement that would harm it. The ice is long-lasting and penetrating from both front and back. There are two pockets for ice; one pocket puts it closer to the surface of the skin. It's easy to put on and take off. Took me a little while to figure out how to do it myself, but once I got chest strap adjusted correctly, it's now very easy. I highly recommend this product. I have all the ActiveWrap hot/cold therapy wraps now and have used them all successfully for various injuries and conditions. This is a winner from a very winning company. As far as I'm concerned, it's worth a little bit more than some of the others because of the quality.

About a month ago, I had rotator cuff surgery; the procedure I underwent was Superior Capsular Reconstruction. Once the large bandage was removed (three days after surgery), I used the ActiveWrap with gel pouches. While the large bandage was in place, I used the Ice Pack the hospital provided, along with a frozen bag of peas. The ActiveWrae product performed better than expected, reducing swelling. I used it for 20 minutes, then took a 40-minute break, during the first week after surgery. In the second week, I iced the surgically repaired shoulder five times a day. I am maintaining this routine and continue using it after therapy. I ordered two additional gel pouches, which proved helpful, and I recommend them along with the ActiveWrap shoulder ice pack wrap. I found the ActiveWrap ice pack easy to use, and unlike the plug-in ice machine, it provides mobility while icing, and costs much less. As suggested, I ordered the extra-large size for shoulder reconstruction surgery; however, once the large bandage was removed, the large size would have been sufficient. I found the gel pouches remain cold for about 30 minutes, which is 10 minutes longer than recommended. I am incredibly pleased with the product and highly recommend it.

This shoulder wrap is VERY well made. It is easy to put on and remove. It provides HEAT OR COLD relief around my ENTIRE shoulder and stays in place (unlike trying to use a rectangular gel pack). A shout out for the seller—I ordered a size Large because I had read a couple of reviews saying that the shoulder wrap ran small. When I received my size Large, the tightening strap went part way around my back because it was simply too big for me. Also, the top of the shoulder portion rippled because there was so much more space in that area than my shoulder could fill. I reached out to the seller through Amazon to ask for a replacement Small/Medium. They quickly sent me the replacement cloth portion, along with a pre-paid shipping label to return the size Large. In two days, I had that replacement! Their customer service matches the quality of their product. Highly recommend!

Used after shoulder replacement surgery. The cool water machine from the hospital worked okay, but the shoulder pad sent with it did not reach around the upper arm where there was a lot of swelling. It required someone other than me to prepare it since there was a weight limitation on the replaced shoulder to a coffee cup or cereal bowl. There is no moving around when using the machine. Applying the straps required 2 people. When using this XL ActiveWrap shoulder hot/ice pack wrap, we worked with it to find the best fit. To draw the gap on the top of the shoulder down, we put the long strap under my other shoulder, across my chest and tightened all the straps to draw the cold packs closer. My upper arms are very large and would not have fit inside the next size down. Not used the hot pack feature - only cold. NOTE: It is extremely cold, much colder than the 2 reusable hot./cold packs I had at home, even in the 2nd pouch away from the body. Compensated by using 1 or 2 dish cloths over my shoulder and it was perfect. This is a weighty product, but not so uncomfortable that I couldn't get up and move.

Bought this after a shoulder injury. Comes with 2 of their gel/ ice packs. You can use 1 or both at same time. Each side has a sleeve that you slide it into. Im able to use this for about 30 to 45 mins and then throw gel packs in freezer for next time. Haven't tried to use it for heat. Definitely worth the $$ in my opinion. Some have said it didn't fit. Can't see how as it is adjustable and can go on either shoulder

Simply the best shoulder treatment system I've ever used! Well built and carefully designed it works extremely well. Other reviewers have had a few complaints I would like to address. First, some folks said that it's difficult to fasten the chest strap because the end with the velcro fastener is behind your back. Since the wrap is designed for use on either the right or left shoulder the chest strap has to be set up for the shoulder you are treating. If the chest strap fastens behind your back it's because the strap is set up to treat the other shoulder. To remedy this simply remove the wrap, attach one end of the strap to the eye on the back of the wrap and replace the wrap on your shoulder. This will put the fastening end in the front where it's easily manipulated. Second, someone complained that the ice packs can fall out of the harness. While this is true it will only happen if you carry the wrap vertically, it has never happened to me as I carry the wrap in the proper horizontal orientation. Third, people have complained that the seam along the top of the wrap results in a warm spot where the cold packs don't actually rest upon your shoulder. This is simply untrue as the cold applied to all other areas of your shoulder quickly spreads through shoulder tissue until all areas are equally cold. Finally, folks have said the cold packs only remain cool for 20 minutes. In my experience the cold packs are just as cold after 30 minutes of use as they were coming out of the freezer. My guess is that these folks either live in the Mojave Desert, or they don't have their freezer set on a cold enough setting. Last but not least I am a fairly small man with a 38" chest and the strap on the small/medium wrap is just barely long enough. If you have a larger than 38" chest you should order the large/extra large size. All in all I love this shoulder wrap and I highly recommend it!

I received my ice wrap the day of my rotator cuff and 3other pressures . I first tried the day after but my wounds was to sore to correctly apply the wrap due to the design and size. I'm 6'3 215 I ordered the largest size and it to small. Fast forward three weeks later I finally got it on and I'm not impressed it's really to small my biceps are only 13 inches and it won't come all the way up without causing more pain. But this is just my experience.

Well made and dos the job

This is a well made piece of kit. Finally I can be mobile whilst administering heat to a very difficult part of the body. A definite pain reliever for frozen shoulder.

As mentioned by a few buyers, it is a little bulky and heavy. The weight is due to the heating/icing gel packs. The wrap fits nicely on me and there are little spaces here and there that cannot fit to my body. I like the fact that there are two pockets for me to insert the gel packs. One for mild effect while the other offers a stronger effect. The strap allows my body to bear part of the weight unlike other type of shoulder wraps that require my already-injured shoulder to bear the weight alone. Having been discharged from a major shoulder surgery just 3 weeks ago, this is especially helpful. After searching extensively, this ActiveWrap is the closest thing to what was used on me in hospital by physiotherapists, since theirs are not available on public shelves.

excellent product with being hot /cold gel packs ,fits shoulder great .Also works well without packs for support for shoulder when walking or working.
