Fury-IB-DF Intellibeam

I have liked & used Surefire flashlights for a long time. My first experience with this brand extends back to my military days with the Navy as a small arms specialist. As my headline displays, this is my 3rd fury. With the addition of the intellibeam this Fury gets plenty of use. From closeup to long reach for search & rescue this light makes the grade. I see a lot of comments about not having a proper pouch for carrying. I found this Maxpedition Flashlight Pouch 1" Diameter 5" to work rather well. The flashlight fits perfectly and the belt loop will fit a duty belt. The belt loop is 3”. This is the only thing I don’t like about it because I normally carry it on a regular jeans belt. The only other complaint about this sheath that the Velcro is not as strong as others I’ve used in the past. The stitching and quality meet maxpedition’s quality standards (although made in China). The light itself is amazing. The quality is impeccable & and the throw of the 1500 lumens is an honest 1500, not like Chinese crap that promises to do the same. The light is great & the sheath is one of the best out there. Update: battery failure. Well my Surefire embarrassed me next to China light at work. I work in engineering. Was doing a hvac inspection today at work. The Surefire died unexpectedly. My $10 China light bailed me out. When I got home I plugged in the usb. 10 minutes later both red & green lights were lit at the same time. Battery failure I assume. The battery was not dead, it malfunctioned. The saddest part of this story is my faith in Surefire being the most dependable flashlight is damaged. It was the original battery that came with the light and had about 5 charges on it. Take it for what it’s worth. I’m sure Surefire corporation don’t care.

I love this light, really bright, comes with 18650 battery, usb charger cord for the battery (battery has built in micro usb on it along with charge indicator light) it’s simple operation, high lumen, and high c.r.i., and it has great throw and spill for duty use. No complicated button presses or programming. Just gently push tail cap switch for momentary, or push to click for stay on till click off. Hands down the best light for any police or military use where your life might depend on it. And it’s a Surefire so you know it’s going to work when you need it. Use gcode (tacticalholsters.com) scorpion soft shell tall magazine pouch for lens up carry. Cut a 1/4” long section of pvc pipe that has an I.D. larger than the tail cap switch button and put in bottom of pouch before inserting the light (it will stay in there permanently) to keep the light from accidentally turning on while leaning on your duty belt or getting in and out of the squad car. And actually this holster will work for about any light of this size regardless of brand.

Surefire is by far, the best and most reliable flashlight maker on the market. Used by military and police forces the world over, I own several and recently purchased the Fury, as it offers rechargeable batteries. Using brand new, recyclable lithium batteries gets very expensive quickly. The rechargeable battery is a huge money saver. The simple push button tail cap provides low lumen output, the 1,500 lumen high output is incredibly bright. Highly recommended.

A high end flashlight like this has one job: to be reliable and work. This light completely fails. 50/50 it doesn’t even go on and you need to tap it or fiddle with the back screw. When it does go on sometimes it’s dim and flickery like a $6 junk light. Rarely does it actually even work as it should. About 15-20% of the time with many seconds of tapping a fiddling it will come on and actually work - when it does it has a bright light with decent throw. But this is of course useless when the majority of the time you can’t even get it to turn on. Shocking that they would have such a junk product at such a high price point. Very disappointing.

Been using it on patrol. Very bright, does a great job of illuminating. Solid build, very sturdy. Can knock hard on doors, drop it, etc and it'll take a beating. I like that it only has one brightness setting, I don't have to cycle through strobe and low power settings. Battery is great, I recharge it once a week and it has never even dimmed from low power. That said, it's too bright for some tasks. It gets so hot you can't cover the light with your hand to dim it, even wearing leather tactical gloves. It's blinding inside a vehicle or on a DUI stop. So plan to carry a smaller pen light.

This is a real torch, if you're looking for a searchlight, this is it. This light destroys darkness and really lights up the night. I love the "dual fuel" capability and the rechargeable battery. Quality seems to be superb as I would expect from Surefire, but why only four stars overall? OK, I'll tell you. This is an expensive flashlight, this is not a "pocket" flashlight and a belt case should most definitely be included. But no, a case is not included, and worse, there is not one available to purchase. Poor planning Surefire, please let me know when a case for this light is available.

I have been wanting to get one of these and the only reason is the price. But it’s a Surefire and you get what you pay for. I am a law enforcement officer with 24 years in and a light on your duty belt is a must. This has more than enough power to light up any area and the dual power option is great to have. I also put the Thyrm Switchback on it which is also a game changer. If you don’t mind the price it’s one of the best handheld lights you can own. Highly recommend!

Light is very bright. The dual fuel system is great, giving the user the choice of rechargeable battery or two 123A lithium batteries.

Seit Jahren liest man im Internet davon, dass bei dieser Lampe häufiger die LED durchgebrannt ist. Okay, mittlerweile ist sichtbar ein anderer Typ LED verbaut, sollte doch nun gehen. Günstigeres Angebot unterhalb der Mondpreise genutzt. Lampe 5 Minuten Dauerbetrieb getestet, keine Probleme. Nun, nach insgesamt mehreren unproblematischen Monaten gelegentlicher Nutzung jetzt angeschaltet, und nach wenigen Sekunden aus dem Kaltzustand heraus plötzlich seltsam diffuses Licht. Reflektor voller Qualm, Scheibe von innen beschlagen, Ergebnis siehe Bild: LED verbrannt, regelrecht geschmolzen, der Tropfen links ist von der LED. Innerhalb von 3 Sekunden aus dem Kalten! So was habe ich bei noch keinem anderen Hersteller erlebt, und das Problem ist offensichtlich altbekannt, da seit Jahren davon zu lesen ist. Für den Preis? Die Lampe leuchtet zwar tatsächlich noch, aber mit großem dunklen Fleck im Lichtbild. Einen Austausch wollte ich nicht, dieses Modell nicht nochmal, dann lieber dank kulantem Amazon Geld zurück. Surefire selbst reagiert auf schriftliche Anfragen zu dem Vorfall nicht mal. So viel zu Surefire... Was bin ich doch glücklich mit Fenix, Nitecore und Streamlight usw.

I bought the SureFire Fury Intellibeam because I wanted a tough, reliable flashlight that adjusts brightness on the fly — and it delivers. The beam is powerful, the build is like a tank, and it just feels premium in hand. That said, I had a bit of a hiccup getting it to turn on at first. Thought maybe I got a dud. Reached out to SureFire support and honestly, they were amazing. Quick replies, super helpful, and got me sorted without any hassle. Turns out it was user error (whoops), but they never made me feel dumb for asking. All in all, this light is a beast, and the customer service just seals the deal. Totally worth the price. Five stars all the way.
