Amazing
I have used this product for years. Makes anything it touches look like new. Long lasting.

This product is amazing!
This stuff really works! I had significant damage on a table from a can of hair spray that burst open. This removed all of the white clouding.

Great for Antiques -- Use Caution with Newer Items. Not good over Poly finishes
I bought this product on the recommendaton of several different people who work with wood and/or sell antiques or used furniture. I had three projects that this product seemed perfect for: an antique oak victorian-style dress with scuffs and deteriorating finish; a 25 year old oak dresser that was showing wear, and a 12 year old oak bed that was in good shape but too light -- I wanted to darken it to match the dresser. Restor-A-Finish worked perfectly on the antique dresser -- it was quick and easy to use and did exactly what I hoped it would do. On the 25 year old oak dresser, it did cover all the dings and scratches, but it made them darker that the rest of the wood, so the dresser now has a distressed finish (I'm okay with that -- I'm trying to get it to blend with antiques, but want to warn users who might not want that effect). The newer oak bed that I hoped to darken -- well, it didn't work. The bed was made in Ohio by an Amish company. I couldn't find that company, but I contacted another Amish furniture company in the area and asked what the Amish usually use to finish furniture, and I was told that 'everyone here uses sprayed laquer', which should work perfectly with Restore-a-finish. I rubbed it on... let it sit. Rubbed it off. It did make the wood richer looking, but it didn't make it any darker, and it remained very oily and kept rubbing off color, even after letting it sit for a few days. I finally went over the bed with Krud Kutter to clean off the Restor-a-Finish, since its not recommended to use other finish products on top of it. I suspect the bed was originally finished with poly , and the Restore-a-Finish couldn't penetrate and get to the wood. I'm going to have to find a different solution for the bed -- but the product did work well on the antique piece and did ok on the vintage one. I've still got more Restor-a-Finish, and I still have more antique oak pieces that I can use it on.
