Absolutely Beautiful Book that Will Move You to Tears!
Anytime Mo Willems releases a new book, I preorder it because I just know it's going to be good. I have six-year-old twins and we own all of the Elephant and Piggie books, Pigeon books, as well as some of his others. This book arrived on release day and we've already read it a number of times!Because is a beautiful picture book that shows how just one piece of music can change many people's lives. It's like a domino effect; we can do one thing and it ends up affecting others' lives. Think about how amazing it would be if we could use kindness in the same way! We never know how one smile or kind word can change someone. This book contains beautiful words (lyrics) and the pictures accompany the story perfectly. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone so I'm not going to say anything other than that it's about music but it can also apply to many other things as well.I just want to note that if you are looking to purchase this and expect it to be hilarious like Elephant and Piggie, you won't find that in this book. This is more of a heartfelt book that people of all ages will enjoy. I also purchased copies for my kids' teachers and it was appreciated so much! Buy this book because you will love it!

Great storytelling and lesson
Mesmerizingly beautiful storytelling. As an operations manager at a nonprofits arts center, my day to day work is focused around the operational aspects of accomplishing big things for our community. What fuels me and my work is the deep belief that the arts hold transformative potential in peoples’ lives, and this book perfectly lays out “how it happens”.“Because” swept me and my three children away. (They had to say Mommy, keep reading, why are you crying?)Magic and transformation takes time, energy, passion, team effort, and hard work. This book lays those things out as the reason for accomplishing something big that changes lives. This is such an important lesson- magic doesn’t happen overnight. But it is worth the work.

Gorgeous
Simply gorgeous. Beautifully written and full of heart, this is the just as lovely for children as adults. As a music teacher with a Mo Willems- obsessed toddler, it feels like this book was written just for the two of us. I will buy any book Mo has a hand in, but this may be his best. (Don't tell the pidgeon).

no laughter no fun
I bought this book to read to my granddaughter's first grade class near the end of the year. She is a big fan of Mo Willems and I thought this just released book would be perfect. The book carries a strong and meaningful message and is well written. However, for this age group, I feel it does not excite or entertain the reader. There was not a hint of humor or strong sentiment. Quite frankly, I myself could not engage with this book. Needless to say, I will choose another book to read to her class and I will donate this to my local library.

Because...it is beautiful!
I love this book! I read it with my library classes (k-4) last week and my favorite part was turning to the wordless pages and seeing their expressions! I love the connections to music and cause and effect and overall how one person can do something that affects many many others down the road. I also love the illustrations in this book. So beautiful and inclusive of all! We shared this with a middle school band teacher and she appreciated that as well as how the score was a real score throughout the book. Books with a similar theme would be Ordinary Mary's Extraordinary Deed, and Because Amelia Smiled.

Simple, Beautiful, Inspiring
As I am only familiar with the author through Elephant and Piggie, and Pigeon, I really did not know what to expect from this book. When I opened the package and pulled it out, I was struck by the beautiful illustrations. My son immediately requested to hear it, and as I read it aloud, my parents joined us to listen. It is such a beautiful, yet simple telling of inspiration. My sister, a librarian, also thoroughly enjoyed the book. I teach elementary music, and plan to share this book with my students, and encourage the school librarian to purchase it for the school as well. It is also something that I plan to share with my colleagues who are also Mo Willems fans.

Positive and Inspirational book with Beautiful Illustrations
I highly recommend this book. As always, a positive and inspirational story by Mo Willems. And the very beautiful illustrations by Amber Ren really bring the story to life and are an absolute joy to look at. His books never disappoint. Reading this book as a family, we each were personally inspired and motivated in different ways because of the book BECAUSE. Bravo!
