G9 Plastic Shade Removal Tool 20mm for G9 Shade Ring

There was no size on this, consequently when it came it was too small. I went to my local shop and got one to fit for £3.

This was ok for taking off the fittings to allow me to take down lamp shade for cleaning, almost had a problem with one fitting as the plastic went around the metal. Had to push on really hard to ensure it did not damage the plastic toolDid the job though.

This item was advertised as fitting 20mm shade rings. I measured mine before buying and estimated that they were 20mm. However the tool was just too small to fit them. I managed to make it fit by heating it in boiling water and forcing it over a ring. This was possible because it is made of plastic. It now does the job perfectly.

Did not like it not sturdy and did not fit totally disappointed as it was a lot of money for what it is.

I wish I'd known this existed previously as it would have saved many frustrating hours

Well, it’s just about ok to undo the nut on my light fittings, but it’s fractionally too small and not quite 20mm as stated.It works if you persist.
