Ever After

Aweome, simply AWESOME!Ever After, is book two that follows Even Now in the series “Lost Love". Author Karen Kingsbury has it! She writes beautiful stories that touch the heart like no one else can. No Spoiler Alerts needed in this review! I am just going to say it like it is without telling the story in any detail at all. Ms. Kingsbury has talent and insight and faith. It resonates all through her books, but this series more than any other touched my heart deeply. I read in the Author’s notes at the end of book two that she cried more while writing this series than any other of the many books she has written. That told me a lot about this talented lady. Ms. Kingsbury gets INTO her characters in such a way that she feels their emotions, their trials and their triumphs deep in her heart. No wonder she portrays them so well! She tells this beautiful story from inside the heart of the parents, the son, the daughter, the loved ones, the friends. It brings the characters to life in a way that you feel them as a part of your life. Not fictional characters, but real people, living real life, with real problems, real heartaches, real victories, and real joy. Woven into her story is the heart of God. Ms. Kingsbury’s faith is so strong, so practical and so deep, and it MAKES her stories so personal. A Christian reading this story sees and feels the answers and solutions only God can give. A non-believer sees God in a way to draw them to Him. Even After completes the series perfectly. I strongly suggest reading Even Now first, and follow it immediately with Ever After. It’s a series you will never forget, and one that you will want to read again and again.

I know this book touched a lot of hearts as it did mine. It has been almost 3 yrs since my husband passed from Agent Orange exposure while serving in Vietnam. We were married 51 years. But the greatest sacrifice was made by God when he gave His only son Jesus for our sin. May we never forget the greatest gift of all and live our lives dedicated to Jesus who gave his life a ransom for many. Wish these two books could be made into a movie. Love your writing Karen.

I had to put this book down so many times because I couldn’t read through my tears. I can’t remember when I have been so moved by a book. Karen Kingsbury is one of my favorite authors. This was one of my favorites.

I have never cried reading a book as much as this one!!! It's so heart touching and throughly enjoying!!!! I couldn't put it down!!! It is a serial to Even Now. When it starts, Shane and Lauren are living in the same town and trying to make a go of it. They have planned a Christmas Eve wedding and their daughter and parents are thrilled!!! However, Lauren just had to many doubts about the war and with Shane being a military man and living in a military town, it's just getting to uncomfortable to live there so she heads back to Iraq.Their daughter, Emily has met and fallen in love with a military man and when he goes back to Iraq, it just makes life harder for Lauren.The rest of the story is for you to read and find out....I don't want to spoil anything. Warning: have tissues handy!!! Thank you, Karen Kingsbury for such a touching story!!!! Please don't miss this set of books!!!! If you have read Karen Kingsbury's other works, you know that you cannot put them down. This one was no different! A couple, who had a daughter together find each other again after many years. They find that they are miles apart in faith, political leanings and how they want to live their life. But they love each other. A faith filled story of giving love a second chance! Highly recommended!

Karen Kingsbury truly is an inspirational author, making each of her characters so real with problems and joy that most of us can relate to at some time in our lives. Ever After truly quickened my spirit and made me realize how far removed that I have been about the lives of the Military and their loved ones that are left at home. The heartbreak of missing the loved ones that are separated by war is portrayed by Karen to the degree that I just sat and wept through most of the book. I thank God that I read this book, and pray that I keep forefront in my life the memory and realization that we are free from tyranny in the United States because of the devotion and love that our young men and women have for the US by serving in the military and putting their lives on the line for our freedom and the freedom of those that wish to be free from tyranny. In the book, Justin made comments to his loved ones to keep praying. By reading this book, I've realized how far removed I have been of whats going on in Iraq and Afghanistan, and I am recommitting to take time to Pray for our military men and women and their loved ones they are separated from. Bravo Karen Kingsbury, keep stirring my heart and the heart of others/

A whole book of puffs!!! Never have I cried so much ( as did the author writing this book) & I’m NOT a crier!!! Such insight into human goodness & patriotism & Faith in our Lord above & His guidance through life. DO NOT MISS THIS SPECIAL EXPERIENCE!!!!!

Oh my gosh! this is a great story, a super second chapter in the lives of Lauren, Shane, and Emily. I wasn't prepared for the depth of this book in patriotism and the complexities of war. I cried through at least the last third of the book as I was remembering how it felt on September 11, what it was like on the Air Force base where we lived, how people came together in love and life. Yes, these are characters in a book, but Karen brings them to life so much that you can see them and feel the things they are feeling as they go through their trials and tribulations. It reminds us that life is short, and we need to look to God for guidance, grace, and mercy. I say "thank you" to all the men and women of the military for your sacrifices...for me. Thank you.
