Awesome
I’m really happy with the quality and flexibility of this thing. I bought it mostly to connect to my flattening jig from an overhead drop above my workbench. I have the rockler ceiling track and hooks to keep it out of the way. I love having the flexibility to reach pretty far from wherever I have it connected to. There’s absolutely no question about its durability, it’s going to last me a really long time

Will work on old Sears unit. Check SIZES
You can change the ends. I have a Old Sears unit. The hose I had was bad. There hose end fit my unit but they are about 3/8 “ short in length - just a very little bit small. You could wrap duct tape from 12 to 6 and it would work. Or just change there ends with your old ones.

Works as Advertised
Need to have hose clamps to add attachments. The end will fray exposing the wire if you're not careful applying the hose clamp. I have this set up in my wood shop and It's working for me. I wish it was a little longer but I just add my shopvac hose and can reach all corners of the shop for clean up. Ironically, I snapped a photo and there is sawdust everywhere... that's from my son and I working on two different projects at the same time and being lazy!

Pulls itself right back to the vacuum.
Well made, but if you are planning to use this on a hand tool, like a sander, as I was, save your money. It’s not rigid enough to hold its shape, meaning that the instant you turn on the vacuum it will suck itself back in. I bought it thinking it would make it easier to sand ceilings with the vacuum on the floor. It does not. It pulls so hard on the hose that it flips the vacuum over. Oh well. I’m sure it’s good for other things.

Fittings are shuipped loose and ara difficult to attach
I can deal with the issues in other reviews by keeping a bungee on my vac to keep it stationary when fully extending the hose, but for over $50 is it too much to ask that the flimsy fittings come attached? Usually things ship disassembled to reduce package size, but the box is larger with loose ends. The photos imply that the ends are molded to accept the fittings, but you get a sawed off section of hose with the continuous reinforcing wire right up to the end. No instructions or installation tips either. I would love to know what they would charge if the fittings were already installed, because that's a cost they saved at my expense.

Not the miracle it's made out to be
The hose is light, but not featherweight, and looks good. Theclamps supplied are just run-of-the-mill worm drive hose clamps so they go over the metal coil at one point, but that's par for the course. The ID is big enough that it should be an improvement on my shop vac. It does retract to a fairly short length which is great. The downside is that it take a lot of force to pull it to maximum length, which I found to be less than the "advertised" amount—about 10-11 feet as measured. The main problem is that it yanks the vac along with it well before the 8-9 foot mark, so there's the rub. It still pulls the vac around behind you, and the tension is always trying to pull the hose out of your hand. Still, I think it's a decent tradeoff for my use, the main advantage being it is definitely easier to store when retracted. I've only had it 2 days so I don't know if the hose will lose "memory" or it will continue to retract (and pull along with that). Would I buy one again knowing what I've learned so far? Probably. It's just not what I'd hoped it would be, so if your expectations are more realistic than mine, go ahead and get one. It's just a hose.

Didn't work with my shop vac and do saw
I think this would be is a better fit for a dust collection system, my shop vac flattened it. But it was easy to set up and of pretty good quality. I'll update my review after I get a dust collection system.
