Great product for making labels at home or work
This product has worked exactly as described. Getting into the menu to find some of the special characters takes a little getting used to, but it's all there. Other than the learning curve to figure out characters, this is a perfect and portable way to make labels around the home or office. The ribbon tape works well, and while you may find it a little difficult to separate the backing, it isn't as bad as some products I've used. I love that the ribbon tape is easily available and comes in several colors and the cartridge that holds the tape is easily replaced, even in the middle of a roll, so you are not tied into just one cartridge until the roll is empty. You have the ability to change font sizes and you can make the text as long as you want, as long as you have enough ribbon in the cartridge for the line length. This has been amazing for labeling batteries, drawers, chargers and so many other items around my home office. This does not have different size of label tape that I could find, so if you want a large label size(ie lettering that is taller than about 3/8"-1/2") you may want to look for a different label maker. The size of this lettering tape has been perfect for everything I have needed, so unless you have a very specific need for very large labels, this should do the trick. The tape itself is close to a half inch wide. Not too big, not too small. All in all, I love this label maker and how convenient and versatile it is to use for all my needs around the house, garage and office.

Easy to use and I can put a lot of letters in the print queue!!
I bought this cause I also bought 4 journals that I am making into cookbooks to pass on to my kids/grandkids. I wanted a label maker to label the side bind and front of the book. My wife4's label maker has a limit of like 12 characters only. With this I was able to make much longer ones, like "Appetizers and Soups" "Main Entrees and Meats" "Salads and Vegetables"...etc...The print is easy to read and it comes with the first spool of label. I also bought a refill label that is 13 feet long (spooled), and it was only about $5. So the cost of this printer is well worth it. It also has a bunch of other options, i.e. Folders to save and upload, multiple font options and sizes. I think the only issue I have is when you hit the number key, the numbers are really tiny and light colored (using the first 10 keys of the alphabet)...but once I saw them, it isn't an issue now. It also has other language options.

Brilliant little machine for the home, and kids labeling of stuff up.
A brilliant labeling machine for the house and for labeling my kids stuff up.Easy to use, literally push the kind of tape into the top as shown in the image, then select the size of text.Easy to put batteries in and out, back cover is a clip in style that takes 4 AA's.Lasts a long time on the batteries.Easy to print, a white button on the top right, then once done a button on the side to cut the label off.Able to print on Paper, Plastic, Fabric/Paper stuff (cartridges are available from Amazon too) etc so I print on plastic labels for my kids drinks bottles, and material for ironing in their clothes.Prints numbers, Letters, upper case and lower case.I've included an image of a few label types, and sizes if it helps.Replacement cartridges of labels cost around $6-$8, but in fairness they last a reasonable time for me.

Prints well and Easy to use
Its a label maker, it makes labels. That being said this one does it quite well and is easy to use. My only gripe and the only reason for giving it 4 stars, it doesn't use a Qwerty keyboard layout so I find my self hunting around for letters as I need to remember they are in an alphabetical layout on this. other than that Ive not no issue using menus to adjust font, size, etc.Its a simple label printer but it works well and the adhesive ont he labels is pretty good. so far haven't had any come off that I did not intentionally remove. If you are looking for a simple low cost label printer that does a god job, this works great.

It's basic & intuitive & that's exactly what I wanted.
I chose this model & brand purposely because It's basic & intuitive & that's exactly what I wanted. The mostly great reviews it has didn't hurt in my choosing either. I find with a tool of this type, that for me simple is better than complicated. I don't need too many options & variations of font & size, the ones which are offered on this item suit me just fine. As others have already mentioned this doesn't not have a 'Querty' keyboard, it is an alphabetical order keyboard. I can deal with that, I just have to hunt & peck a little it's no big deal, after all I'm not writing an essay on it I'm just making occasional labels. I also wish it had a power cord so I didn't have to use batteries. I hope it holds up because I really like it, only time will tell.

Not sure why I waited so long to buy a label maker
This machine is so awesome!!! The last time I had a label make was one of the red handled ones with the wheel that depressed the letter into the plastic to turn that letter white. Thing was a pain in the butt to use and the plastic was hit and miss if it would stick. I bought this to organize the garage in my new house (specifically all my tool drawers). The strips are super easy to read and has so much customization as far as size/font/borders that it works awesome.Regarding the reviews of the paper tape not sticking...those reviews are from 3 years ago. I'm not sure if those reviewers just got a bad batch of tape or if Dymo changed their process, but I had NO issues whatsoever having this paper tape stick to any material I tried it on.
