unscrew the tip of the scale and insert into hand very carefully.

Is it heavy enough to be a functional bookend?

Not likely. Possibly the large (16 in.) version but I would think the 12.5 in. isn’t heavy enough.

Not made of Bronze, made of other soft material. Cheap quality product.

It is not made of Bronze. Made of other material. Beware of buying duplicate thing. Also quality is very bad. Received broken item. I ordered for gift purpose but after receiving the item I returned it.

Wrong description. It is not bronze. Also in my case received damaged item.One can go for it but keeping in mind that material is different ( i think its resin)
