Unlike loose seed feeders which make a mess as birds scatter seeds, the seeds in this block are bonded so that a bird pecks out only one seed at a time without scattering many other seeds. Little mess and the birds feeding off the ground pick up the rest.

This product could have been packaged with more care and the damage to the blocks (broken and crumbling) would have been eliminated or reduced. Instead, the blocks, in a simple plastic bag, were shipped in a simple plastic Amazon bag with no protection around the bird food blocks. Any bumping or jostling would naturally cause these blocks to be damaged during shipment. Disappointing. We like the blocks and the birds like them too. The shipping method is the reason for our lower rating. Thank you.

Product made good quality. Came little bit crushed, minor damage

Messy! These two arrived with lots of loose crumbles in the package. The picture of a hook at the top is misleading. I'm on my own for hanging it somehow, and there will be a lot of loose seed to deal with. The mix itself looks good; too soon to tell how the birds feel.

They look more like food than some of the other block feeders I have, but they're also very expensive. That said, they are popular, so I'll either order more or look for a better buy.
