I live in an apartment and they only provided the big garage door remote clicker. It was a pain to carry up and down the stairs and I was constantly accidentally hitting the button, leaving the garage door open. My solution was to get a key chain opener and after some research, I went with this one. Shipping was fast and it took 30 seconds to connect to my garage door. It did remove the code from clicker and I had to reconnect it after (both clicker and keychain now work). As a nice surprise (I didn't notice this on the product details), the keychain has a sliding plastic shield that protects from accidentally hitting the button. Good quality and works perfectly (I've only had less than a week, but all is well at the moment).

I bought this to replace a Chamberlain brand key chain remote. That remote started to have issues with the buttons not always sending the signal when pressed, and I always worried about accidentally pressing the buttons while carrying it around the house in my pocket. Not anymore! I love the button cover on this remote. Programming took about 10 seconds... press the yellow learn button on the opener, hold the button you want to program on the remote, wait until you see the opener's lights blink or hear a clicking sound. Done! I remember spending at least an hour programming the old Chamberlain remote. Finally, when pressing a button on this remote, you'll notice it doesn't activate immediately. You have to press and hold the button just a bit before you see the light blink on the remote, which means the signal has been sent. I imagine this remote will get scuffed and scratched pretty easily, but time will tell. Even so, it's a great value.

Works well and makes it so I have my own key to the garage. The button doesn't always work though and requires me having to press it multiple times however, more often than not it works first try.

I recently received this product, and am happy with it's appearance. It looks to be well made. I tested out he sliding shield. It stays in place nicely, and does prevent the buttons from being pushed accidentally. I can't comment on the range yet, but will probably update my review later.I'm interested in seeing what the range limitations are, and how long that distance is maintained as the battery ages. Also, I am curious to see how long the buttons hold up to repeated use. Lastly, I see a possibility of the slider wearing out through time, which could expose the buttons. This might not happen - it was just a thought.I intend to update this review once I've had some time to use and abuse this thing; however, straight out of the box, it works geat and is easy to program.

Works with the garage door unit specified. No problem.Best feature: Small, with a sliding guard over the buttons, so if it's in a backpack or purse, you're not likely to trigger the door by accident while a block away on your bike.

I need a spare garage door opener. I was looking to buy the Liftmaster brand, which costs over $28 dollars in Amazon. Then I ran across the ExcelTek model, it claims to be compatible with my garage door opener. So I kind of took chance purchasing it. It turned out to be a very good move. After the initial question of where the buttons are on the Excetek unit (one would need to slide the black cover to expose the buttons) it was extremely easy to sync the ExcelTek with my Liftmaster garage door opener. It took literally seconds to accomplish the task. The ExceTek works great.By the way, Manuel, the owner of ExcelTek was great in respond to my question thru email. I really appreciate the wonderful customer service.

I ordered one for my wife's new Tesla 3. Her sun visors are too thick for our old remote and the old remote was too thick for the low ceiling height of her Tesla. I liked the size and look of this remote and the reviews were good, so I thought I would try one out. It was extremely easy to program (our opener has the "yellow learning button). It looks well made and is a perfect size for the console storage box.My wife loves it and I was so impressed, I ordered a second one for one of my other cars. I gave a solid 5 star rating and I would recommend it to friends, family and anyone else!

We have two garage door openers - both with YELLOW programming buttons. I wanted to put both on this remote. Only one door will link to the opener. I'm doing the exact same steps for both - but only one works. I am using buttons A and B. Oddly, the instructions say that C and D are combined so I made sure to use the main A and B buttons. No matter what I do, the second opener will not connect. I even cleared both openers and tried switching the buttons thinking one button was having an issue. Nonetheless, the same door could connect (to either A or B) while the second door could not. Both door openers are the same brand - one is older - and have yellow programming buttons. I'm returning the item since I want it to work for both doors.
