Great recipes - easy to read
I’m old fashioned and need a BOOK to look up recipes. So far I’ve tried a few of these recipes but my favorite is the Root Cause Smoothie. I’m like her husband and need my smoothy “cold and tropical” so I omitted the avocado and added chia seeds and ice.

dr. wentz is a top resource for hashimoto's
i own dr. wentz' other two books. she can be quite an information overload when you're first feeling out knowledge on hashimoto's but she is one of the best sources as well. the first part of the book is a condensed version of what you might find in her other two books while also diving more deeply into how your diet affects your autoimmune disease. the dialogue is approachable, and the author both personal and likeable.as far as the recipes go, i've made five at this point: hot lemon water, spa water (do these count, lol!) truffled veggies, beef stew, and bibimbap bowls. all three FOOD recipes have been very successful for me, though i have to sub quite a few things due to my gut/food sensitivities. beef stew was bison stew; the meat in my bibimbap was bison meatballs as well, as i react to beef (and chicken, and fish!). i can't have garlic or onions so i leave those out as well as the avocado in the bibimbap. despite all that, everything has been a success and i just have to remind myself that i'm eating to heal right now. i hope some day soon i'll be able to reintroduce everything so i can have these recipes as they should be enjoyed. please don't hesitate to give this cookbook a try. everything is simple, straightforward, delicious, and doesn't require a ton of prep or cleanup. thank you, dr. wentz!

If you've got lots of time & money...
I preorderd this book and got it delivered on its release date because I had such high hopes for it. I wanted to love it. But honestly, I'm not sure it will work for the average, working person/family. To follow the specific meal plans, you will need to set aside a significant portion of your day to cook. Day 3 of Intro Week is literally hours of prep and cook time. Also, several recipes, in addition to the daily morning smoothie, require a scoop of a specific Rootcology protein powder which runs $80 per canister on Amazon. Obviously at this price point, it may be not feasible for many people's household budget, especially if you're a mom who is having to increase the recipe sizes to feed a big family. On the upside, it's a beautiful book, lovely pictures, and great info on Hashimotos. Just maybe not the best solution for a busy, working, middle class family.

Not just for Hashimoto's
You don't need to have Hashimoto's to benefit from this book. Most of the nutritional guidance and recipes are appropriate for anyone who wants to control ANY autoimmunity or just plain optimize health. I love that most of the recipes do not take a lot of preparation, and even those of us with fatigue should not find them daunting. For example, Creamy White Chicken Stew is essentially four simple steps: briefly precook a few items in oil, add ingredients and boil, add more ingredients and simmer until done. There is only one step for Bigos (Polish Hunter's Stew): "Place all ingredients in a slow cooker, mix, and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours." I also love that many of the recipes are accompanied by a beautiful photo of the finished dish; honestly, this is what draws me to a particular recipe. As someone with a lot of food sensitivities, I am delighted that this cookbook magically contains more recipes without any offending ingredients than any other cookbook I own. Dr. Wentz puts her heart and soul into everything she does, and this book is no different. Her passion shines through.

Love this book!
I really have been enjoying this book! Have had Hashimoto’s diagnosis for nine years and haven’t really done anything with it other than take Synthroid like the doctor says. I never feel good and half of my hair has falling out over the years. Two weeks of making these recipes and going gluten and dairy free and I feel so much better already! It’s a little confusing on which is the best plan to go with. Autoimmune, Paleo, or intro. So I just decided to combine them all and just go gluten and dairy free right now. Can’t wait to see if my hair starts growing back. Some of the recipes are not that clear as far as I’m concerned. And maybe the layout of the recipe book could be a little bit better in order of finding things when you want to. Otherwise I enjoy the author and all her helpful tips! Nice to hear it from someone who is walking the road of Hashimoto

Extremely informative book...a necessity for anyone with Hashimoto's.
This is the best book that I have bought and the best book overall for information to understand Hashimoto's. It answers a lot of my questions and made me feel like I was not alone or that things with my body were normal and natural for having the condition. It is a book which is trusted by my doctors. I highly recommend any of Isabella Wentzs' Books.

Great recipes, but falling apart!
I have made most of the main dish recipes by this point, and most of them are wonderful. I bought because I suspected hashimotos but found that treating candida and an iron deficiency those symptoms are gone. This is one of the books that is helping me to feel better. I don't think i have been rough with this book, but after less than a year the pages are falling out! I think I have avoided using it these last few months because of this. I bought a binder and some page protectors because I want to keep this book. If the author reads this, I would look into better binding in the future. Thank you for all the recipes!

Very Basic - much better options elsewhere
The premise behind this book is that food and nutrition are the foundation of healing. Nothing at all wrong in that, but nothing new either. This is a book in two parts, the first (which takes up only a third of the book) is about having Hashimoto's and what to do about getting tested/diagnosed etc, The rest of the book (two thirds) is a collection of 125 recipes. Unfortunately none of the information about being diagnosed with Hashimoto's or about diet/nutritional aspects of healing is new and what is there is pretty entry level. It can all be found for free on Wentz's website/blog posts, or those of many other thyroid specialist doctors, or in Wentz's previous book on Hashimoto's, which offers much greater depth of information. As for the recipes that form two thirds of the book, they are very very basic. Do we need a recipe to make Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms Paleo style (except with cashew cream cheese!) or Twice Baked Sweet Potato (using coconut yogurt)? Or Polish cucumber salad - sliced cucumber with coconut milk/yogurt plus seasoning or root veggie bake?!!! The list of laughably simplistic recipes is too long to put here. I am not by any means more than a half-decent home cook (think uncomplicated Nigella/Jamie etc) but unless you are a complete beginner, you don't need a recipe for this stuff. Also, if you follow Paleo/Paleo Automimmune/Low Fodmap diets etc. there are many far far better cookbooks on the market should you need inspiration. I learned absolutely nothing new from this book and feel somewhat let down. It is going off to the charity shop.

Great book with tasty recipes
Really love this book. It’s full of vital information and has really helped. Her recipes are easy to prepare, follow and taste amazing. There is a range of recipes and not just simple salads as previous review suggested (salmon and parsnip fish cakes are definitely a favourite). This has educated me To know what I should be eating to feel better. Would definitely recommend to anyone who suffers from thyroid issues.

Useful book
It a good bookwith very useful everyday tips and easy to follow advice. However some of the recipes are a bit too hardcore and definitely don't look anything like the original dish. Overall though this book has helped me a lot with adapting my diet and way of cooking.

Very, very good. Life changing
This is God send! I reluctantly tried few recipes and I can feel improvement, so on my shopping list I replaced few items for the ones recommended in the book

Important book but annoyingly poor quality print.
Very poor quality print hard to read a cheaply put together book despite glossy front cover, hope content is of use, it looks detailed.
