Nice level 2
I was a bit surprised how well this charger worked, it's simple plug and play, charging my solitaira from 5 to 100 in 10 hours. The built in monitor shows the Amps and KWh levels and they seem to match the input of the car. It was definitely less expensive than putting in a hardwired unit while getting comparable charge speeds. I didn't notice any heat buildup on the unit after the full charge which was something I was concerned about. The length of the cable is great too. I would definitely recommend this unit if your looking for a decent level 2 for an old dryer plug

Amazing
I love it. Easy to use just plug it in and it works. I cheated and used the forbidden y adapter to extend it. However DON’T CONNECT ANYTHING To the other side of the Y adapter if this is what you want to do. It gets VERY hot. I tested it out so you don’t have to. You’re welcome. I used my dryer outlet which is 30amp to charge at 240v level 2. It’s thick not super heavy, it chargers at a decent speed and I have had 2 major power bills and haven’t have any spike. The months August and September bills should’ve been easily $600 for me and although a mild Georgian (Atlanta) summer my bill wasn’t even $200 it was actually $180 and $150. We mostly charged around 3pm which I don’t follow the trends so I’m assuming that’s a horrible time to charge. We always charge overnight mostly. So either we are done charging before we go to bed or we are done while sleeping and wake up to take it off. Overall we love it and I did a ton of research that landed me on this one before I bought it. So glad I found this on the first try.

Unbeatable customer service from Mustart
We originally purchased the Gen 1 version of the 10-30 charger. We loved the cord and how fast it charged our car however it began to trip (an slowly burn out) our 30amp circuit breaker. We had our electrician examine the issue and he measured as much as a 31amp draw from the charger. Unfortunately we didn't think to document the electrician measurements but this was no issue after contacting Mustart support. Mustart listened to our issue, asked a few questions, and then decided to send us a new Gen 2 charger (sold here) free of charge and via express shipping. Mustart support was friendly, responsive, and we couldn't have asked for more from them. Our new Gen 2 charger is made with upgraded chips and sensors that are more sensitive. This charger has not shown to trip the 30amp circuit breaker and works perfectly. I've seen other reviews commenting on the viability of the 10-30 with a 30amp breaker. The charger is definitely pushing the limits of 30amps however we had a very well regarded and experienced electrician examine the situation and he expressed no safety and certainly not fire concerns with it's use. This is definitely your charger if you want to get the most out of your 30amp dryer outlet, and know that Mustart stands behind their products and provides great support.

Excellent high quality charge cable, but watch the plug
I have used this cable for 4 years and it has always been dependable. I have the old 26 amp version & I now see they are rated at 25A, which may be good because when I unplugged it from the wall outlet (NEMA 10-30 version), I noticed that one of the blades on the plug had gotten hot, and it was melting the plastic of the plug. The plug always got warm while charging, so I didn't think much of it until I unplugged it and saw the evidence of heat buildup. I always assumed the warm plug was due to pushing the current limits of a 30 amp circuit. Anyway, it wouldn't hurt to check your plug from time to time to make sure it isn't getting TOO warm. I'm removing the plug and converting to a NEMA 14-50, which can handle more current and seems to be standard for EV chargers. I'll have to convert to a 50 amp circuit too, but at least I won't have to worry about it overheating. Update 8-23 I should have contacted Mustart before posting a negative review. I still have reservations about the NEMA 10-30 version, but they offered to replace the cable, hopefully with the NEMA 14-50, even though it was well past the warranty period. I didn't think that type of commitment to standing behind products even existed anymore! As I said earlier, the cable has been very dependable- it just keeps working under daily use (sometimes with two cars)-other than keeping an eye on the plug, I couldn't be more satisfied.

It’s Working
The product came nicely boxed with no materials missing. I would suggest reading the manual so you know what the different flashing lights mean. The only thing that I see that doesn’t quite work on my car (CX-90) is the locking mechanism when the charger is plugged in. Also, as some others have mentioned, the plug itself is a little tight when inserting. Other than those two things, it seems to be doing the job.

Love it.
Update: Had it for over three years now and still going strong with almost daily use. Highly recommend. I didn’t find any name brand chargers with a Nema 10-30 dryer plug. And I couldn’t install a new 220v outlet as my main panel is maxed out. Main Panel upgrade was going to cost north of $3k. So I bought this one with hesitation. But it exceeded my expectations. Solidly built, charges my 2013 Leaf to 80% in about two hours. No fancy features but perfect for my needs, particularly given the price. And the reason we went L2 after years of L1 is because we got solar panels and we’d like to charge our car with cheaper energy (past 12am on PG&E EV2-A plan.). On L1 if we start charging after 12am it won’t be ready by morning. So, this charger is already paying for itself.

Worked for 3 months then died.
Worked great the first 3 months charging my Kia Ev6 with no problems. Went to work this morning and noticed it did not charge last night. Thankfully I had enough battery to get to work and back. Some how it tripped the breaker. After resetting the break a few more times the charger would make a clicking sound repeatedly. I tried everything to get this junk to work but it would either trip the breaker or continuously make a clicking sound. Very disappointing.
