Gas Cap for Volkswagon Jetta

just get a good plastic one or OEM
put it on and within a few weeks, needed to be replaced...unless you live in the hood, just get a good plastic one or OEM model

misleading Amazon search
I give it a one not for the product but (perhaps Amazon fault) it came up as an option that fits my 1997 VW Rialta Eurovan-it does not-it looks like a good piece-I still have it unused and anyone who wants it can have it

which was fine EXCEPT it doesn't solve the problem
according to the research available this checked out to fit my 1997 VW Jetta GL, however, it did not. I wrote in and was told to throw it out and they refunded my money, which was fine EXCEPT it doesn't solve the problem. I still need a locking gas cap since I park in a public lot, and have had several pieces of the car removed-yes stolen-and my tank emptied more than once over the years which is why I added the locking gas cap to begin with.. My old cap is great but It has no markings and I had a valet loose a key so I'm down to only one! Any suggestions would be appreciated.
