Our hearts sank when we found out our beloved 8 year old golden retriever has cancer. A small tumor was spotted by our vet and removed during a minor procedure and it came back as Hemangiosarcoma, cancer of the blood. We were given 2 options... 1) Have an ultrasound and see if it has spread and do nothing or 2) give her chemotherapy. We're not one to want chemotherapy for ourselves so I am not wanting to give this poison to our girl either. Luckily the results showed that it did not spread but there could be other tumors not seen in the scans. Being on Keto diet ourselves we know the benefit of the diet and how cancer prevention if not elimination is a major benefit of eating this way, so why not put our girl on it. Easier said than done... there are some great foods out there for dogs but many if not most still have fruit or some sort of carbohydrate to bind it together. Yes, there is a raw diet but that is expensive, time consuming and not really that user friendly. Introducing Dr. Harvey's paradigm... what an amazing product! Completely keto with added ingredients such as turmeric which is great for inflammation. Simply add a fat of some sort, we use fish oil and coconut oil and a protein, we use frozen raw pieces from Northwest Naturals and move out of the way because your dog will knock you down to get to this food. I have never seen my dog get so excited and whine for a food than when i prepare this. The 8 minutes for it to re-hydrate feel like eternity for her, she will lick her bowl completely clean then go back a few minutes later to lick it some more in hopes that some more magically appeared. Her attitude is completely different, she has much more energy than she has in years. We could tell her back hips have been bothering her for a while, very slow and labored when getting up, seemed like arthritis. Now she jumps up, not slow at all, ready to play and run at any moment now. Mind you, this is after 2 weeks of using this food she is acting like this. Her next scan is coming up next month to see if her cancer has spread at all. If her attitude and energy is an indication of that, I would say no, were going to kill this horrible disease with the help of this amazing food and no poisonous drugs that the oncologist says is your only option. Thank you for making this Dr. Harvey, I believe you have extended my dogs life and made her feel like a puppy again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.*Follow up 9 months later*It’s been 9 months since this horrible diagnosis and I am happy to say she is still cancer free and still goes crazy when we make this food for her. She whines impatiently to get her food and still is playful with a lot of energy, you could never tell she was diagnosed with cancer, we believe this food along with the raw meat and vegetables that we give her every day has saved her life!

I have an 11 month old puppy that has food allergies. In the past 6 months I’ve learned so much about kibble and what goes into kibble that I can’t believe it’s legal to sell. So I decided to go raw. Bought a food processor and everything. The food processor is still in the box probably collecting dust. I became a little overwhelmed and when I came across Dr. Harvey’s I was instantly impressed with the ingredients, the quality and how easy it’s made to serve up a healthy delicious meal for my little dude. I found Dr. Harvey's while researching low carb diets for my dog who was recently diagnosed with diabetes. He had been on Hill's Prescription c/d diet for bladder stone prevention but I knew that high carb low protein is a death sentence for diabetes. My dog is picky and was very excited just from the smell of opening the trial bag (you can get it free on their website). He has not hesitated to dig in every meal. I'm adding ground chicken and using organic low sodium chicken broth to hydrate the food for extra flavor. While the company advertises to change up the protein for nutrients, our vet advised to stay with the same protein for diabetic dogs, less variation is safer. His stool has been solid during the food transition, which I did over just a few days because I was eager to stop spiking his blood sugar with the high carb prescription food, this is incredible as he always has diarrhea when changing foods. We are keeping a very close eye on his glucose during the change because less carbs will hopefully mean less insulin. I read a review regarding somogyi and that person seems misinformed, that happens when a dog receives too much insulin, they likely weren't monitoring their pet's glucose and it's insulin requirement diminished (which is a good thing) due to the lower carb content of this food. Another review said that the quality had gone down and there were less vegetable chunks, I've added a picture and if anything we had more chunks in the 3 lb bag than in the trial bag. This food was approved by our vet and I'm hopeful it will prevent cataracts and complications from the diabetes for as long as possible. Great dog food! Healthy, organic

Contains ChickenThe company does not tell you the bone broth is chicken. Shame on me for assuming it was beef. When I called the company and found out it was chicken I asked them why they don't label it so people with dogs that have allergies to chicken don't end up with a very sick pup who is chewing her leg off and itching like crazy. Their response was they don't want to label it incase the end up changing it in the future. Which now could cause issues for other dogs if they change it and don't tell you. Bad company for allowing this. I will change to a reputable company.
