An excellent and versatile pedestal fan!
You know how, when you angle a fan to blow at you, after a little while, that constant flow of air gets a little uncomfortable? Well, I don't know how I missed this specific feature of this fan, but it has a "nature" mode where the fan cycles periodically through the different fan speeds to vary the flow. This has been a revelation to me! It is really a wonderful feature and feels almost like a "natural" breeze, rather than just a constant flow. I've never heard of such a setting on a fan, and this is really fantastic. There are an additional 2 modes: one, where it's just like a normal, constantly-blowing fan; and another, called "sleep" where it cycles through the low and medium speeds. These mode functions are really cool! I didn't know fans could do that! The build quality is really solid. It's actually a much heavier fan than I was expecting. Not so heavy that it can't be easily moved, but it feels really solid and stable. The base is smaller than other fans I've seen, but it is heavy enough that it still is really stable without wobbling around. It wasn't difficult to put together at all, though I did have to set the grill a couple of times in order to line up the label properly. It's not a criticism, and if you don't care about that sort of thing, you can just slap the grill (cage?) on any old way. I'm not sure what the function of the little blades that go on top of the larger blades. Don't really know what it does... But I'm surprised at how quiet it is. Much quieter than even my window fan and little desktop fan. I'd say the size is kind of medium-large, but it really moves air like a larger fan! The oscillation is wide, too, and the head can be angled quite high and low. This isn't a wholly "budget" kind of fan, but it's not too expensive either. I'm really pleased with it - as a kind of step up from my old cheapie fans. Highly recommended!

Acceptable., (no., AMAZING) Quality at AmazonBasics’ price point.
It’s been 5 years and 7 months since I posted this review. I can’t believe it has been that long. Well, this product turns out to be made impressively well by its durability. Some keynotes from my original review that I will like to clarify. The remote for this fan it’s not radio frequency but infrared, that’s why it the remote control needs to be aimed directly at the LED display of the fan ., that’s where the IR reader is located. Every part is still original and in the same condition as 5 years ago. The fan is use for days on speed 24 without any issues. It’s rare to see something manufactured in China last this long. I’m Impressed Singfun Electric 先锋电器集团 (the manufacturer of these fans) did an amazing job. ******************************************************** Let Me start by saying that The fan is perfect for the amount it’s currently selling ($55.99) not a penny more. The overall quality is acceptable. I was very curious about this fan noting that the price was fairly good for DC technology. so I got to spend a few hours with it and there are a few things that any consumer who might be interested in it need to know. First of all, the fan is very simple to assemble. You don’t need instructions to put it together. It took me 6 minutes to have it ready and operating. The only tool you’ll need is a Philip screwdriver to unscrew and then re-screw again a security screw that keeps the lock on the guard ring securing the rear guard to it in its place. When I put it together and tested it, it had an annoying rattling but I took care of it. More on this later. Airflow delivery is fair, not as great as those good old fans from the 1980s. It’s acceptable. So don’t expect to get a lot of airflow from this fan. The fan produces a pleasant white noise when set at any speed above the default 18 level which gives the impression of blowing a lot of air. But is not. It’s an illusion. It’s all in the blades that are designed to give the impression of an abundance of air. The double blades is just a marketing gimmick. Having 7” blades in front of the main blades does not improve or increase airflow. As for the levels or speed, this fan is advertised as having 24 variable “speeds” which in reality is more like 11 actual speed/levels. Speeds 1 and 2 are the same thing no increasement or difference at all. Same thing with 3 and 4, which can be considered speed 2., At level 5, You see a third “speed”., level 7 and 8? yep, same thing again 2 levels one speed. It’s not until level 9 that You will notice a significant increase in airflow from the first 8 levels. 9 and 10; speed 4., 11 and 12; speed 5., 13 and 14; speed 6., 15 to 17; speed 7., The Default level 18 has a small increase over 17, 18-19 which would be speed 8., 20 to 22 is speed 9., level 23 another small increase and then level 24 has the maximum airflow. The speed increases are very minimal at the low levels and then it jumps where You can hear (and feel) the difference. The three wind modes it’s more like two modes. The Normal model is basically that, operating at any normal speed., The Eco mode, variates the speeds between levels and recycles it again and The Baby (sleep) mode, slowly increases then slowly decrease to level 3 and stays at level 1 after one hour and remains at level 1 until You change it or turn it off. This could be considered a design flaw but I did notice that it lacks response time between different speeds and modes, the fan changes visually but not operationally, meaning if I change it from say level 1 to 18, it will still operate at level 1 for a few seconds even though The displays shows it’s at speed 18 or whatever speed. But it’s to be expected, this is NOT a high end product. My unit had this vibrating rattle noise whenever it slowed down caused by the guard ring lock as it’s very loose when engage. So I took it off and wrap some clear tape and insert it back and no more ratter when it’s on Eco or “Baby” mode. I’ve thing to think if You have that problem. One thing that really bothers Me is the fact that the fan WILL NOT save previous settings when it’s turn off. If you have a preference speed and oscillation choice set, You will have to set it all again each time You turn it back on. I wish there was a way to hack it so it would save previous settings whenever is turn off and back on. The remote control is a bit tricky. You have to press the buttons hard and be aiming directly into the display screen on the fan stand to make it work. It requires 2 AAA batteries, which are not included. The Materials are AS (Acrylonitrile Styrene) plastic for both blades which are very lightweight, thin and extremely fragile., the body is lightweight ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic for everything else except the guards, those are thin lightweight aluminum. Durability is one thing that no one knows. But it has electronic components in it and when those fails, it’s either repair it or toss it. So who knows how long will it last. The thing I wish I could do is, hack it to keep it from forgetting the previous settings when it’s turn Off and then back On.

Great fan but poor assembly instructions and sensitive remote-control buttons
Once assembled, the product works fine. The assembly instructions were the worst I have ever seen! It takes someone with some mechanical aptitude to figure out what the instructions SHOULD have said! If you are not mechanically inclined, get someone to help you put this together. I gave this product a 4 mostly because it is a great price and it does do everything else very well. Great air flow, oscillating, etc. However, the remote control is very sensitive. Do NOT press hard on the remote-control keys - press them very lightly in order for them to work. It took some experimenting for me to discover the "light touch". If you press hard or press and hold the keys, they do not work.

Love It! Got a 2nd One 9 Days Later :)
The standing fan that I had in our bedroom finally died. I ordered this one because it was within my budget of how much I wanted to spend on the fan and let's say I was so happy with the product that I ordered another one 9 days later for our living room. It's well constructed. I had a bit of difficulty putting it together but that's on me. On the lowest setting the air flow is pretty strong. It's quiet. Comes with a remote however I haven't used the remote as the buttons on the fans are easy to press on and off, rotate etc.

Love it, have already bought again!
I’ve just gotten my second one of these fans, the first one was for my work office, when my husband seen it he wanted one for at home, and when my friend seen it she immediately ordered one as well. It’s honestly one of the nicest fans I’ve ever seen. I feel like the quality is beyond the price. The best part is the smaller sleek design of the base, it’s weighted so it can be smaller than the head of the fan, no wonkey legs or jumbo sized base to trip over. The airflow is great, it puts out more air on low than my previous fan did on the highest setting. The remote is a nice touch and simple to use. And the overall assembly was pretty simple too. The only thing I didn’t like was the one screw that goes in the latch to hold the cage shut. If it weren’t for that screw then the whole thing could be put together without tools.

Instantly cooled me off. Very happy with purchase
After sweltering for 3 nights, I ordered this fan. No regrets. It was very easy to put together, took less than 10 min. Only 1 actual screw(you will need a regular size screw driver) and 2 or 3 knob screws to secure pieces in place. Read the direction. The little fan blade made me chuckle. It is "double bladed" 1 big 3 blade fan and 1 very small 3 blade fan piece stacks ontop of each other. you can easily take it apart to clean. That was/is important to me. CLEAN YOUR FANS. It is bigger than I expected. Not flimsy at all. As for the bow out Airflow.. Yes! My room is 20x20 and this fan definitely reaches from 1 side to the other. The oscillation is 180. The setting are normal hi low, fan. Nature, random pattern. And sleep which blows medium-hi And low. The remote requires batteries 2 double a batteries not included. No regrets buying this sturdy quality cooling fan. Also I would not call this portable even though it's lightweight enough to move. I'll add, for me it is not noisy. My air purifier is louder. It sounds lije a fan but no creaky or grinding noise. With proper cleaning I feel like even though this fan is "basic" it could last a very long time.

Great fan while it lasts!
I bought two of these fans two and a half years ago for about $39 each, and initially they were great, easy to assemble, quiet, good air flow. After a year, the metal front and back covers started to rust, even though they are cleaned maybe twice a year? Some dust accumulates, but that's about it. The plastic blades are fine, like brand new. Today I found that one of them (from the bedroom) suddenly stopped working, at least partially. The oscillation function works, but the blades don't turn and the motor doesn't seem to make any noise or heat up like it's trying to turn the blades. No idea why one function works and the other doesn't, but I'm no engineer so I won't try to troubleshoot. The other fan is still working fine. I'd probably rate this a little higher, like 3.5 if that was available. We do lose power a lot here, so the fan just stops when that happens since it needs to be manually started again. Not sure if multiple power outages affected the motor.

Best electric fan
The Amazon Basics Electric Fan is an excellent buy! It’s powerful, quiet, and so easy to use. The best part is the remote control – I don’t even have to get up to adjust the settings, which makes it super convenient, especially at night. It has multiple speeds and modes, and the airflow is strong enough to cool the room quickly. Assembly was simple, and the fan feels sturdy and well-made. For the price, the quality and performance are outstanding, that's why I bought one more. If you’re looking for a reliable fan that combines convenience and comfort, this one is perfect. Highly recommend!

Ventilador GOD
