The DSLR mics are obviously terrible, so a small external is a must at all times.PRO: quality is great for the price. small and compact.CON: uses CR2 battery, which is fine and can be found at stores, but you never have one just laying around.

Does not work
Bought it and put the battery in as instructed, but it does not work. the light flashes on, but does not stay on and the microphone does not work at all.

Do not purchase
Bought for Christmas gift. Would not turn on. Replaced the batteries with new and still would not turn on. Upon inspection, discovered that the stabilizer elastic / rubber pieces were dry rotted. Returned for refund.
