The Chalk that came with it stained it. :(
Well, I loved it until I went to erase the butter stix off and they stained the table runner. Is there any solution to this problem? I followed the instructions for cleaning and it's still stained by the very sticks of chalk that came with it. :( if I can't get it clean I will have to return it which makes me sad. I really liked it.

Only one use as it doesn't clean off. Not worth it.
I really liked the idea and wanted to use it for my husband's birthday but it's lacking in quality and not worth the money. Two of the included chalks were broken, one was missing a big piece. I decorated it with mostly words but included a few drawings with the 4 colors included: pink, yellow, white and blue. It was used only a few hours and tried to clean it with a damp towel as instructed and it just doesn't clean off. You can still see residue, especially with the drawings. It was a nice surprise but not worth the money.

It's gray
I was expecting a black chalkboard table runner as indicated by the pictures, but it's gray. I'll give it a three start until my wife uses it. if it works with the markers we have and looks good then I'll give it five, if it needs different markers and pisses me off I'll give it a 1.

Oh my goodness - I am embarrassed that I paid ...
Oh my goodness - I am embarrassed that I paid this MUCH for a piece of black vinyl - I had to keep the first one (arrived the same day) for a party idea I was committed to and was planning on giving the other as a gift - no way would I ever consider buying this again…nice outside package - not worth the price for what was inside!!

Do not buy
Last time I checked, slate wasn't the lightest shade of grey possible. You cannot even see the white chalk it's so light. Waste of money.

I have 6 grandkids, and when they come over ...
I have 6 grandkids, and when they come over, I pull this out and let them go to town it. I purchase the color chalk with this

Great for keeping the kids occupied
This has been a big hit in our house. Lots of fun for play dates and keeping the kids occupied. The runner is easy to clean with a damp sponge and some cleaning spray. I keep my runner under the table cloth to keep it flat (as recommended by another reviewer).
