This Book Delivers Romance, Laughs, Angst & More!
The royal family of Avonia is back for another enjoyable entry in the Crown Jewels Series. I heart these books and characters so much; they feel like old friends now. In The Royal Delivery, we get to check in on Prince Arthur and Princess Tessa a year into their marriage. They're still madly in love and are now expecting a little prince or princess much to the delight of the kingdom and their families. As thrilled as the parents-to-be are with their impending arrival, they soon learn that they are ill-prepared for all the issues, opinions, and judgments that come with a very public pregnancy. To make matters worse, poor Tessa is violently ill (I had the greatest empathy for her, but still laughed my butt off over Vomitgate!) and Arthur finds himself both sleep and sex-deprived. Although the couple does their best to present a united front and weather the hormonal storm together, their once-happy relationship starts to show serious signs of strain. Will the thing that should bond them together forever cause a permanent rift instead?Once again the author tells her story with alternating points-of-view from the heroine and hero and it's fun to see how pregnancy affects both Tessa and Arthur. There are lots of comedic moments, as well as cringe-worthy and poignant ones, along the way. It was great to see the return of supporting characters like hunky bodyguard Xavier, who becomes hilariously over-involved in the princess and her offspring's welfare, and Tessa's well-meaning, over-the-top parents. Every good story needs a villain, so the always hissable Lady Dr. Brooke has a part to play in the proceedings and she gets the best comeuppance ever, which made me cackle with glee. Another character I won't name is redeemed in a very organic way and that redemption segues beautifully into the last, heart-stopping act of the book. The denouement of the story is a lovely valentine to fans of the series that made me tear up. I know this book is a wrap on Tessa and Arthur's story, but I've got my fingers crossed that we'll see characters like Xavier and Princess Arabella, who still needs to find her special someone, in a future tale set in Avonia. Kudos to the author for this wonderfully funny, romantic, and entertaining trilogy, which I highly recommend to fans of romantic comedies and royal romance. It's the perfect series to read while you wait for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to walk down the aisle!

❤️🌼VOMITGATE....COWNTESS OF CAMEMBERT....AND SO MUCH FUN...ONLY MELANIE SUMMERS ❤️🌼
After reading The Royal Treatment and the Royal Wedding, I knew, without a doubt, I would read The Royal Delivery by Melanie Summers....She writes love stories while finding humor in every subject and situation...and still giving us a good love story, characters we love and, sometimes, a little heat along the way...❤️🌼After seeing the “plus sign on the stick”, Arthur and Tessa, get another shock, and while Tessa needs a stress-free pregnancy, her personal insecurities plus the fact that Tessa has no libido, re-focuses Arthur and kicks his overprotective tendencies into overdrive...and Melanie Summers gives us a funny book about two people who, no matter what, are very much in love....and work through their problems...❤️🌼While I usually like some sex in my books, I didn’t realize until I finished this book, that there wasn’t any sex in this book, and I LOVED it. I, actually, laughed out loud, and I, even, shed a few tears in places....Melanie Summers gives us everything...I recommend, highly, The Royal Delivery, but I promise you will also want to read The Royal Treatment and The Royal Wedding....I have loved this series from its beginning, and after the last few weeks I’ve had, I really needed this book!!!❤️🌼Thanks, Melanie Summers, your books give us so much, and you do it with humor and love...❤️🌼

Tessa's back - pay that royal PR consultant
Somewhere on the north shore of Belgium, in the kingdom of Avonia, Tessa Langdon is having morning sickness. It's gotten so that she has her throw-up bucket - that she calls "Buckety" - with her at all times. THE ROYAL DELIVERY is the final volume in Melanie Summers' Royal Jewels trilogy. It picks up one year after Tessa's marriage to Arthur, the crown prince of Avonia, and it's just as goofy and tongue-in-cheek as the previous two novels.Fact is, this book covers Tessa's pregnancy from first trimester to all the way up to her giving birth. Anyway, I soon got sucked back into Tessa and Arthur's brand of zany. Arthur's dad, the king, has hired a super-enthusiastic media consultant, mostly to put on a face-saving spin for whenever Tessa embarasses the royal family. Because, yep, Tessa, is still a hapless trouble magnet, an epic klutz, the continuing target of rampant scorn and fishbowl scrutiny in the kingdom. Haters will hate. I got the giggles when I read that the PR person keeps a "Days Without Incident" counter on a whiteboard in her office. And that Tessa had actually gone 68 days without incident. But, then, Vomitgate. Oh, poor Tessa.- Tessa: "I made it to sixty-eight days today. My longest stretch yet."- Arthur: "By my account, it's really ninety-four days. It's completely unfair to count tripping over a dog."It doesn't help Tessa's self-esteem and peace of mind that her gorgeous, posh rival, Lady Dr. Brooke Beddingfield, is trying to one-up her pregnancy. Brooke, who is also expecting, makes being pregnant seem like a stroll in the park. She's even snagged a reality show to document her nine month journey. Meanwhile, Tessa just keeps reaching for Buckety. Not that the crown prince isn't without his string of wackadoo moments. Except one mustn't blame Arthur for being consumed with the notion of safeguarding their future baby from every possible hazard in existence. See him go to extreme lengths to baby-proof the royal palace. Think Father of the Bride kind of bonkers. Not to mention, now he has to navigate the precarious hormonal tempest that is Tessa. Not to mention, he hasn't been getting any in some time, what with sex the furthest thing in his wife's mind. Not to mention his father has gone on extended holiday, leaving him to tend to the business of ruling the kingdom. The author, in a roundabout way, has hinted that there's a chance for a Christmas short story. Still, I fear this may be the final chapter in her chronicling the lives and madcap mishaps of the royal Langdons. If it is, at least everyone came back for a final bow, from Tessa's awesome over-involved bodyguard Xavier to her beautician best friend Nikki, to Princess Arabella to Tessa's mortifying parents - who, with their demonic kitty, end up inhabiting the palace for a time.Observe Tessa and Arthur, first-time parents, try to survive the pregnancy. I appreciate that the author doesn't try to depict Tessa's pregnancy as this beautiful, effortless experience - something that Lady Brooke would have the world believe to be true. Tessa doesn't glow. She sweats like a dockworker. Her feet and ankles swell up horribly. She can't maintain her figure. Consequently, she comes off more as a real person. In the course of all this, and Tessa's resulting insecurities, and Arthur's own baggage, well, suffice to say, their once loving relationship is put to a serious test. That Tessa is determined to raise her child as normally as possible, so that the kid doesn't grow up to be like Joffrey from GoT - thus, no platoon of nannies - is only one of the issues in which our couple don't see eye to eye.THE ROYAL DELIVERY is a terrific capper to the trilogy, even if it got uncomfortable at times because the author doesn't hold back on how ugly it gets between Tessa and Arthur. Except it only made the eventual HEA feel that much more earned. I loved how it ended, in such a lovely coda. But I can't help but pine for more stories in Tessa and Arthur's world. I echo those who've been jonesing for follow-up stories on, if not Tessa and Arthur and their kids, then on Arabella and Nikki, each of whom would make for a marvelous romantic heroine. Heck, give Xavier a girlfriend, too, why not? Anyway, Melanie Summers delivers another solid read full of heart and chuckles and pop culture references. It's the perfect appetizer leading up to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's walk down the aisle. It's funny how real life is sometimes crazier than fiction. Who would've thunk it that Meghan's half-siblings would be more horrifying than Lady Dr. Brooke or Tessa's well-meaning but embarassing parents?

Amazingly funny series of books
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series of books. Melanie captures real relationships in a way missed by other writers. I have smiled laughed and cried my way through the adventures of Tessa and Arthur and their families. Through it all shines the powerful message that love will conquer and families will be there for you despite the many bumps and hurdles along the way. More adventures please Melanie and soon
