Pill Grinder/Crusher - Crushes Multiple Tablets/Pills into a fine Powder – Ideal for Feeding Tubes, Pets or to Help Children take Medicines

The Tab Time crusher seems more robust and effective than crushers made from plastic. It does a good job of reducing tablets to whatever degree of fineness the user wants. The handle is much easier to use than trying to tighten the crushing lid of a plastic one. When crushing three tablets, sometimes I need to shake the crusher to get a tablet to engage with the ceramic crushers, but this is only a minor issue. To wash the crusher thoroughly you need to dismantle it. which could be an issue if you need to crush tablets that should not be done together. Not a problem for me - so a quick brush (brush supplied) is all that is needed.

All my wife’s medicine is taken by stomach feeding tube and has to be in either liquid or powder form. She takes 4 Paracetamol daily which, come in 15mm caplet form. These caplets have to be crushed to a fine powder to enable them to be taken in her tube. When I saw this crusher advertised, I checked it out for various reviews. The worst reviews mostly involved the crushing of large pills.Well, let’s see my review: After several trials with the large 15mm long Paracetamol caplets I realised that by halving these pills and opening the crusher (ref. Photo 3) the pills crushed effortlessly. As A fine powder was required, the crusher was closed slightly and the pills put through again. This I normally do 3 times to achieve the required powder. As these caplets come in packets of 100, I will crush them all in loads of 20 at a time, which takes about 25 minutes for the 100 caplets, and is sufficient for 3 week of application. I do this while wasting my time watching TV. I then store the powder in clean holders and use a measuring spoon to scoop one caplet measure into a plastic cup, which she then tops up with water to feed through her tube.I have no problem in giving this 5stars all round and fully recommend.As for those 1star reviews. You must open the crusher wide enough for first crush and gradually repeating by closing the crusher until the required powder is achieved. If the caplet you are crushing can easily be mad smaller by hand, like the Paracetamol, I would do this. Don’t through your crusher out. Just load and use it properly.Last comment. I have used the small one pill crushers which are sore on the wrists and would take hours to crush 100 pills. This crusher is well worth the purchase at a very competitive price.

This is the second of these we have purchased as it's far better than the screw down to crush types. We crush about 6 small tablets at once. It works like a pepper mill and is adjustable in the same way. All the crushed tablets end up in the lower compartment, making it easy to use. It is quite large, and putting the handle on can be a little fiddly if the person using it has dexterity issues. We have tried several different types and this one has been the most reliable of them all.

Bought this to grind our dog's herbal remedies and save me the hard work of doing it in one of those mini grinders. It works very well. Just a few turns of the handle and all done, even on the fine setting. Not the easiest to wash/dry (would be great if the black insert that holds the spindle could be removed) but if grinding the same pills, a good brush after use is sufficient. First one was faulty (ceramic burr was jammed. Thanks to all who responded to my query). Tab Time responded immediately and sent out a replacement which arrived very quickly indeed.

This is a domestic pill crusher. Thus may be needed for specific medications which can be large (check with your pharmacist if in doubt) and are not modified released. The taste of tablets may be unpalatable, so some youghurt eases the pain. I found the simplicity of Steele in the appearance of an antiquated medical device quite beautiful. It comprises a few simple parts; handle to turn ceramic grinder; removable lid for pills; and collector. The grinder can be altered for a finger grain.Easy to use with longer handle requiring less effort. As the combining elements are removable, either hold on table of in hand. Turn and you're done.I wouldn't try to change it, removing the magic.

This product was brilliant until I had to wash it to ensure there was no cross contamination from the residue of previous medication, as this was for a new patient with totally different medication requirements.Not all happy, it’s barely been in use.

Put tablets in the top, a few easy turns on the long handle, ideal for arthriticy hands, and powder drops neatly into the bottom chamber. I sprinkle over my husband's porage with sugar and cream as he sometimes chokes on a tablet. Much safer. The ceramic grinder is easily adjusted for fineness of grind. Comes with a good cleaning brush if by chance the grinding mechanism needs depowdering. The top and bottom are easy push on pull off fit so no having to fiddle with screwing on and off. Fast delivery. Good instructions. Well made.
