Great all-around Meter for detecting wireless hazards
I didn't want to spend too much time with a detailed review on this but after seeing the bogus negative reviews on here, I had to chip in. First off this is about as good as it gets as far as detecting just about every conceivable wireless device that is commonly around us these days. If there is one negative I can find about this meter is that it doesn't pick up really fast spikes from devices such as smart meters very well. You can clearly hear every spike but it will only register 25-50% of the time on the display readout. This is not a big deal though unless you want really scientific data on every spike. You will still get a good idea of what average power the Smart Gas/Water/Electric Meter puts out. What this does better than most any other meter is that it's very sensitive and covers a much larger Microwave frequency range than most others. Some meters are better for Smart Meters but only cover up to 3 Ghz frequency. So they will not detect the 5.8 Ghz phones or Routers that are increasing in popularity. The LED lights also make using this device so simple and if you want more technical info, the display will give you near exact measurements of what it's reading. Are there meters out there that are better and give better info? Defintely but it will cost you... to the tune of thousands of dollars in most cases. I bought this simply because it's very educational as well as great at showing you what you can't see or hear. Always use it check out areas I haven't been to before to locate Cell Towers and the like. Very Pleased with it having owned it for the past 6 months or so now. Pros: Very sensitive and picks up weak microwave signals from very far away Picks up a very broad range of microwave signals ranging from 200 Mhz to 8 Ghz and beyond Informative LCD display that shows exact up-to-date readings Simple LED displays that show peak of signal strength and average Very Helpful Audio function that allows to hear what type of signal is being emitted Battery life is great around 15-20 hours with two rechargeable AA NiMh batteries Cons: Does not always detect really fast microwave emissions from devices such as Smart Meters Not a Tri-Axis Meter

Simple interface but very sensitive and comprehensive, a must have against cancers by telcoms!...
You all just said a lot for it! Now, after my first month but plenty of highly intensive usage of it...I can confirm that this Acoustimeter worth each cent of it to help you avoid the current EMF smog in stupid progress today...as much as possible to preserve your health and thus really prolong your life! It helped me a lot to discover even hidden wave guide ray dispersions from a GSM cell tower crossing a village to far destination and this way stupidly exposing by providers negligence some part of people around that area! Just walk down the village or in your city with this amazing device activated to get unexpected dangerous level RF signals around and then find their sources to take care of! When talk about wave guides, direction antennas, intense radiation may randomly strike you from far you will never know! In the ideal and certainly initial case , wave guides linking the cell towers or even new WiFi APs are properly settled to higher alttitudes straight lines but new obstacles, buildings or many other external factors may alter and disperse a lot that radio wave energy. It also helped a lot inside my appartment to locate then get shielded from my stupid neighbours leaving WiFi routers continously running...

It does it's job...
It may be pricey but it does a damn good job, my one complaint is that I wish it could give a readout of the specific frequencies it is picking up. But it's more than sensitive enough to pick up the weakest of sources, and the device is designed to make distinguishing different sources of RF and strength of those sources acoustically or audibly. Has a built in speaker but has a standard headphone output that makes a real difference once your used to using it. It gives signal strength readouts in both peak and real time constant update. And those readouts are supplied in two formats at once. One is the American "standard" version, and the other is a more accurate representation is how I can best describe it, without going into it. So yeah it's a good piece of equipment and it does it's job, it's much harder to get people to do their job in response to the readouts I have taken with this devise.

this is good, it works as advertised
this is good, it works as advertised. but for me it was a bit of a novelty. basically don't have wifi stuff near your bed. pretty basic. save them money.
