It's Yamaha. Basic receiver but still great. BT streams smoothly and the FM Tuner is great. Tried the headphones and that is excellent sound. Tested a few different pairs of speakers from Klipsch Reference series to basic bookshelf and they sounded fine in each respectful category. Received the refurbished but the funny thing is every bag and seal was sealed like the factory. No dust inside or out, no fingerprints or any indications of use or wear. I tend to think it is a warehouse overstock by the looks of it. Great deal at the currently reduced price.

Replaced my receiver I had for 50 years, works well with great sound

This amp has the ability to provide and easy 100 watts per channel. Looks nice, no frills but nice chills when it pumps up the volume! This volume is a little bit to get use to but this is my only con is you have to keep turning and turning to get the sound where you want it. I like the old style when you turned it a tad to get volume. The sound is robust. Bluetooth is a nice touch when streaming your music wirelessly for long hours of play back with Pandora, YouTube etc. Radio is strong and AM is good. The display is easy read and you can lower the brightness too. I use an old Zen M 60GB to provide the tunes to this beast. I bought this with the Amazon Renewed listing and am very much impressed for this unit looked completely new and untouched. I am using this to power some vintage Fisher speakers from the late 60's which this does perfectly. The new 15 inch woofers installed really make a difference but the rest of the cabinets (excluding new cloth on the grills, poly fil, seals etc.) sound amazing after all these years. My dad had these in his garage which he passed away on July, 26, 2019 so this was for him in his memory. A big thanks to Amazon and Yamaha for the power to run them again. Update in 2023: I have to add that I made this ppurchase via Amazon and it arrived at me in mint condition (Amazon Renewed scheme with 90 days money back guaranteed). For hifi components, if it works for the first quarter, it will then work rest of years. Mine though opened box but mint in sense that both its cosmetics and functions work perfectly. I purchased beefier models of Yamaha same series, the As 301r and As 501r afterwards via Amazon. Other than delicacy, the AR 202 receiver's overall performance is comparable to its leveled up siblings... AR 202 has already become a legend in hifi history since 2018... Yet of course audiophile ears are more picky and won't stay still with this kit. Therefore I purchased the silvery stereo amps afterwards cux I knew prices would go up very high and it is now proven positively and more so... Grab one even if used as ye still may... The AR 202 has an extraordinarily energetic drive in stereo sound given it's the youngest brother in the family. It brought much glory to the whole brand indeed...Review in 2019: "...performs much better than the beefed up version 100v Yamaha A-S301 silver in way of responsive and agile bass, larger soundstage, impressive midrange and fine treble. no wonder it is the best selling amp in 2017 and 2018. i suppose the cult still goes on......"

A little hesitant on buying a refurbished unit but very happy with the price. It was in brand new condition also. Very impressed. Sounds awesome

It could use a loudness control.Can an equalizer be hooked up to this? If so, how? The amp and preamp sections are not separated.
