The turbidity tube is a clear tube with a small Secchi Disc of alternating black and white quadrants and provides a quick and easy way to measure turbidity, a measure of water clarity, which is in turn related to the amount of sediments or pollutants in the water.

The picture shows a drain near the bottom of the tube, but this is not actually there. You have to dump liquid out the top so you will not get precise measurements.
