Extremely User Friendly
This cork screw is a sturdy little workhorse. Because of the wonderful handle, it is a breeze to use, even with arthritic hands. This may become my favorite and most appreciated hostess gift.

Highly recommend this EASY to use and Reliable Twister Corkscrew!
Highly recommend the *EASY* to use and reliable Twister Corkscrew! After my decades-old original 'Screwpull' finally began to disintegrate, I ordered this as a replacement. I chose it over other similar products for a couple reasons.First, the length is ~6". The extra length, as well as the larger, ergonomic handle, seems to make a noticeable difference in comfort of handling and stability, while using.(Screwpull ~5.5", assembled.)The *ONLY* alteration I would recommend for the Twister would be ─ • Either a built in blade, as on the original Screwpull; or ─ • To provide a separate foil cutter.(I now use a foil cutter from another set, as shown in photo.)Because this corkscrew is so handy and also easily fits into kitchen drawers, I find myself using it far more often than the expensive "Bunny ears" opener, I previously preferred! The second reason I chose the 'Twister' over another Screwpull ─ the Screwpull Company was acquired by Cuisinart. (Don't get me wrong, I love my Cuisinart Food Processor!) Unfortunately, as a result, though ─ the cost of a Cuisinart Screwpull is significantly more than they were before. (?)3X more expensive than the Twister!Though originally purchased as quick replacement, I'm impressed enough with the quality and ease of use that I can't find a reason to spend $30, when I'm perfectly happy with this product!

The corkscrew falls out of the opener.
This is a great design. It's self aligning to a certain extent, making it easy to hit the center of the cork every time. It lacks those wings that most corkscrews have which are such a pain. The corkscrew is long, and by continuing to turn the handle after it is fully extended it pulls the cork out of the bottle. It's a little tough to turn the handle at that point, but it's easier than the wing design. It pulls the cork almost completely, too, so it requires next to no exertion to pull the cork once the screw is fully engaged.Removing the cork is easy, too. Simply grip it tightly by squeezing the body and turn the screw the other way.The screw is not captive on the body, though, so you end up with a 2 piece opener. Not the best design, but still better than the common one.

Simply the best
I've used one similar to this for years. Loved it--so easy to use.The handle was made of plastic and ultimately broke. The handle on THIS model is metal and not likely to ever break. I have all sorts of corkscrews/openers and none compare with this model. You just turn the handle--no downward pressure from your hand is necessary. I highly recommend this opener.

Best One in 50 Years of This
I've been uncorking wine bottles for 50 years (gee, time keeps on slipping into the future). This is the best tool I've had. The handle provides all the pressure you need to insert the cork screw and if the cork is good the turning process will pull the cork free of the bottle. It can be a bit difficult getting the cork out of the handle, but that's a small price to pay.Bonus. An engineer friend taught me a better way to start. Get a utility knife and cut up (verticle) and under the foil wrapper around the bottle top. Peel off the foil, then use your corkscrew. It is amazing how easy it is to remove the wrapper and how much easier it is to uncork the bottle without the foil around. I used to work a knife around the top of the bottle and cut the top off the foil which was never easy. This upstroke taking slices of the foil never puts the knife edge against the glass and only rips through the wrapper. It is stupidly easier.

Works great!
2nd one I’ve purchased. Works better than any other cork screw I’ve used.

Not durable
At first I loved the ease of this opener. I bought it just because of all the positive reviews. Well after having it about only 10 months, it broke tonight as I was opening a bottle of wine for myself and some guests. The twist got stuck in the cork and the top silver piece broke off from the twist. I’ve recommended this opener to so many people. Now I’m not sure I’ll be replacing it with the same one.

Great gadget!
This is a good one. Do not buy the fancy electric cork screws! They take away the fun of opening a bottle of wine, and don’t hold the charge. If you want something easier to open your favorite Bordeaux bottle than the classic two levers device, and something that requires less strength than the single handle/barman type corkscrew, buy this one.I had a black one for four, maybe five years, and I opened many bottles during that time. Lately it got a bit hard to twist, because the screw got slightly bent (it was my fault), and it still worked for months, but was a bit harder to operate. So, I bought a new blue one! For the few bucks you pay, it works great. I just got the new one for something like $7, and it winds into that cork smoothly like a charm! It’s the little things in life…FYI, over the years I bought hundreds of items on Amazon, and never wrote a review, but this one was worth it!
