This arrived boxed with a personal note, and personal name inscribed on the outside. A family business, there is a booklet showing the makers. The packaging is great. I've never encountered anything like it here in the U.S. It came from England to Oregon without a scratch or anything rattling around. Now for the product. We discovered this via an online antique refinishing program. I've been polishing cherry and mahogany furniture for most of my life, but have never had a product that gave this quality of finish. It is takes a little work, and a little waiting. This isn't a spray and wipe polish. It doesn't make a hard shine...the wood glows. The grain is revealed at its best. These are smaller jars but you can do a lot with little. My husband restores antique radios. He has found it to be very good as well. Worth the price.

quality gives a soft shine on older wood furniture which makes it look expensive not like applied shiney finishes i got the starter kit it was great and i am ordering more and learning proper way to care for furniture we love pleasure doing business with gilboy..in england delivery took almost 1 month dont worry worth the wait

I bought this based on UTube videos by Gilboys. The items are packaged beautifully; i.e. someone really thought about what they were doing and executed it perfectly. There are three tins of polish, plenty to cover and test a piece of furniture, or maybe two. On top of that, I had botched a polish job on a table top, but Simon Gilboy - the MD - took the time to coach me on how to fix it. It was so wonderful to meet such courteous and helpful people. I'll be a lifetime customer of Gilboys. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We have a lovely bureau that is 80 years old and has substantial surface wear and tear. For example, a bottle of perfume was spilled on the top some years ago and we just covered it with a bureau scarf. We applied two coats of the wax according to instructions and the top is beautiful again. Yes, there is still some wear but that's what happens with old furniture and it's OK with us. It should be used in a well ventilated room since the wax contains turpentine. It took us about 30 minutes to revitalize the top of this bureau.

Great quality wax. I haven't mastered it yet but the potential is there for some remarkable results. A little goes a long way.
