Kid friendly approach
This approach is very helpful for visual learners. My 2 daughters are enjoying it.Tip:- You can color a white glove with matching colors if painting and washing the colors off your child's fingures are a hassle.

Good for play. Not for learning piano unfortunately
Bought this as I thought it is an easy way for my kid to learn the piano. It shows the notes in different colours which yournkid can remember if you paint their fingers with the colours. They play songs by following colours. The kid will be able to play popular tunes in the book. However it is a novelty at best as they won’t be able to read actual piano music sheets. You will need to keep buying books with the same colour notation OR make your own color music sheets. Good for entertaining your kid probably but not for learning piano. In fact, it may even confuse the kid when he learns real music sheets without colour in the future. But if you are just out to entertain your kid, then I guess you can try it out for yourself

A fun and easy to learn to play piano book for kids and parents like me who need and want to learn to finally play piano
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Music is such an important part of our lives. Yet, I don't know how to play any musical instruments but would love to. And I hope that my daughter who is 7 now will enjoy the many gifts that understanding and being able to play musical instruments will allow her.Thank god for this simple yet effective book. I have to admit, my daughter didn't take to this book immediately. She was using her iPad to learn, but since the book is so easy to follow, I started playing, and it got her attention. Then we both started playing together. Today, she picked up the book herself and started playing. I was so thrilled. This is such a great beginner book.

Builds confidence and brings smiles because students are having fun while they learn!
I've experienced the same struggles that the author mentions regarding teaching young children from other method books. I've been teaching concepts from The Musicolor Method for almost three years now. His method lets the child get straight to doing what they like best, playing music that is an actual song. As a teacher I love how simple it is so the kiddos can practice independently. The personal growth and positive self-concept that follows is so precious to watch enfold. As you follow through with the next levels it is a perfect transition to traditional notation. By then, they're loving the piano so much that they're ready to tackle note reading.

Perfect for kids!
I’m excited about this book. Our 3 year old has asked for more than a year about music lessons and we inherited a piano 1 month ago. The timing is perfect to start lessons but I wasn’t sure how to start. This book explains simple steps and explains the rationale of teaching piano to a young student in a way that I can encourage and understand (I have no music background at all). It’s already fun which seems to be the best way to gain momentum!

Good method for young children
I have a 2 1/2 year old that is learning to play. I found Piano For Kids as a result of searching for addition help I was already teaching her by color. She has a 7 year old and 10 year old brother that I teach the traditional way. She plays tap hand bells and piano by colorI use a pointer and point to the colored note. She then plays the appropriate note or bell. She is happy being able to play like her brothers. She is developing s love for music and experiencing musical success.I also teach grades one through six hand bells. I use colored hand bell and colored chimes. In addition, I add theory and note reading. They are able to perform and learn rhythm as well as eye and hand coordinationI think color is one method that can provide for musical success and music appreciationMaryI gave the book 5 stars on technique for teaching playing the notes with finger muscle strengthening songs. I would rate the lyrics as 4.5 as I prefer not to teach the lyrics, " Ants in my Pants.: which is one of the songs included.I am just starting to use this book with my students. I will be better able to evaluate its effectiveness after I use it. But I am of the opinion that it will be beneficial. In fact, I have already ordered Book Two.

I love The Musicolor Method as my students can feel successful ...
I’m a music teacher with many years experience. I love The Musicolor Method as my students can feel successful by playing & singing the songs by following the colours. The method also encourages creativity as my students love composing their own songs using the colours. Well done to the author, Andrew Ingkavet.

Waste of money
I don't understand How come this much high rate star get it. I will not believe Amazon ratings anymore. So thin.. No much to teach.. If using color.. Should put some stickers at least.

Nice to start getting comfortable with piano
I had 2 kids try this book out (6 & 4 year-olds). My older child outgrew this book within a few days. The younger one took a better liking because it was color-coded and did not require reading.
