Some people have complained about the knob not going sufficient clamp force to hold the angle. This is true, but it can be fixed easily.If you take the stainless arm off and give it a quick sanding with an orbital sander with around a 100 grit pad, it will give the arm sufficient surface finish to allow the aluminum base to grab. Easy as that.I like using the all metal bevel tools for metal fab. The plastic ones dont like being too close to hot welds..

This tool is made to last. I was quite surprised at the weight of it when I got it. The handle is solid cast aluminum. I used it last week to transfer an angle from a miter saw leg to an adapter to mount casters on the saw. This tool kept me from having to try to "eyeball" the angle and doing it by trial and error, saving me time, money, and frustration. If you do woodworking, get it.

So this item is heavy for no real reason and the knurled thumb screw is so low profiled that it is hard to get enough purchase on it to tighten it enough to clamp the aluminum to hold the angle tightly. As long as you don't bump it it works. I wouldn't buy this product again though.

High quality product and looks great displayed on my workbench area pegboard. I also gave 5 stars to Johnson's aluminum Try Square purchased at the same time. I would highly recommend these products especially If you live in a humid area.

Tightening wheel did not lock bevel securely. The the threads on the lock wheel would bottom out on the thru-bolt producing looseness. I added a small washer to fix the problem. Works well now but basically shipped defective. Other than that the aluminum solid and feels well made.

A washer under nut will stop bolt interference providing a secure blade. Quality and design very good.

This doesn't hold it's angle well at all. There are suggestions in other reviews on how to fix this, but I can't give a higher review to a product when I have to modify it to work properly.

Craftsmanship is there, very well built, the finish on the aluminum is great, the finish on the stainless steel straight edge is also great. One thing I noticed and didn’t appreciate was the way it was handled trough amazons wearhouse/shipping, by the time it arrived it was covered in dents scratches and nicks on the fragile aluminum.

It is a bullet proof tool like I expected but the set screw is a bit short and it has to be turned very tight to hold its position when taking a reference measurement. The less expensive plastic handle unit from the same company is nicer to work with.

As advertised, but as others say, take one size bigger
