Want to track your driving or find your stolen car?
I purchased spectrum tracking on the suggestion of a friend. The delivery was fast. The instructions were clear. The device is very easy to install. I installed it on my 2015 Mercedes in a minute. The device is small enough that you do not notice it under the steering wheel where it plugs in . Now, some of the information such as fuel efficiency is available through my car already, but what spectrum tracking does is it extracts that information and make it available to you as a history through a web account or a smart phone app. You can even download it in CSV format. When you login to the website, there are two interesting features. One is replay on a map and the other is reports. You can select the day and the times of the day you want to track the usage of your vehicle. With the replay feature, you can track where your teenage son or daughter has been during a certain day or even a time period, this device is just perfect for that (don't tell your kid that you installed a tracking device on the car). If you want to know if your car was used unauthorized when you left it for valet parking or for maintenance, you can check spectrum tracking reports. If your car is ever stolen, you can locate your car with this device. Think of find my iphone app.The reports feature provide you information on total fuel, work fuel (you define the work hours) fuel efficiency, fuel cost, total mileage, work mileage, co2 generation, total time, work time, driver score, vehicle health. I can see many uses of this information. If you use your car for work and want to get reimbursed or deduct your expenses from your taxes, this device can help. If you are making extra cash as an uber driver, this device can help you assess the actual profits you are making. The report also presents driver behavior as a chart. So you can check if your kid is speeding or not. Or you can check your own driving to become a better driver. Why not five stars? The website can be improved. For instance, there should be a refresh button on the reports page when you select different days and hours. I had to reload the webpage to get a report for different days. Information on how certain metrics are calculated would be nice. Being an engineer, I'd like to see the units on each numbers. On the replay feature, there should be an option to accelerate the replay animation by a factor.

Very easy to install and outstanding customer service! This is the one to buy!
Wanted a way to track our trucks without spending a fortune on monthly fees, this seems to do what we need!Super easy to install, plug it into the OBD port. log in to register and you are good to go. On our truck, with the tracker plugged in you could bump it with your leg and pretty obvious it's there. We also purchased an extension cable to conceal it better. Better set up I thinkThe Apple app works great, the website is better for reports and such. You can see where vehicles are, replay their route and get a full report on speed, fuel, driving habits, estimated costs to operate and track vehicle service and more.Yearly is less than $9.00 a month, way better than some that are over $30.I've had a couple of questions and within 2 hours I had a response with my answer.I bought one unit to test, will be buying several more!I am 100% satisfied and that does not happen much in my world.I highly recommend, comes with a 30 day trail, what more could you ask for?

The tracker that I am sticking with
OK, I have tried all the famous units on Amazon. There is the Amcrest, which I really like, has a great interface but their monthly service is expensive. There is AmericaLoc, whose UI is a bit dated but they are very good, though their monthly service is fairly expensive (at least they throw in a couple of months etc. when you pay annually). And then there is the Vyncs OBD tracker. No comments here on that one, you can read my review and I will leave it at that (hint: Thumbs down!)However, in the end, this is the tracker that I am sticking with. Sure, I had some growing pains (some of the issues are mentioned in the reviews), but what I found amazing was that the manufacturer worked with me, all the way, over a couple of weeks to sort every one of them out. I complained about the service, they worked diligently to fixed that. I was frustrated with elements of the UI, both on the website, as well as the Android and IOS apps, they fixed that too. I got the distinct feeling they wanted to make things right (unlike my previous experience where the manufacturer kept trolling me for leaving them a negative review).I wanted to give these guys the chance to make things right, and having used this for a few weeks abroad in the Middle East, I have no problem giving this tracker 5 stars. I have had nothing but pleasant and polite interactions with the support staff. With me that goes a long way. Bravo to the Spectrum Tracking team for keeping customer service as their focus. This is a young company trying to do business in a very competitive environment. It's not easy but I am certain they will continue to improve both their service and their apps as time goes by. I hope to see some vehicle information-related updates in the future where I can see the health of the battery, fuel level etc. An OBD tracker should be able to do that. However, since this isn't what I bought the tracker for, I have no expectations on that front. This tracker works across international borders and that's good enough for me.

Great customer support
I purchased the tracker about a month ago, and have been impressed with the ease of use. There are features that I'd love to see enhanced over time, but for the price I think it's already a great solution. I've exchanged several messages with the support team and they've been VERY helpful. Some responses pointed out things that I've done incorrectly like trying to use a feature that was in beta mode. But other responses were to note that they would make enhancements and those have been available within a few days. I'm interested to see what other capabilities they add in the next few months. Depending the location of the OBD II port in a given vehicle, an extension cable might be a good add-on to consider. The device might be small, but it wouldn't be hard to accidentally disconnect it either.
