Dinsmores Brass Thread V Shape Rod Rest Head - Black, 9 cm

Well made rod rest, fitted it to a dinsmores to adjustable dinsmores ground screw bank stick, great combination, sturdy and lightweight and cheap.

This is a well made product and the line doesn’t tangle around it. Have caught some nice fish using it and so far absolutely delighted

These rod rest heads are a good size and appear to be made from a decent tough form of plastic. There are issues though.My first order for was for four of these and every one of them needed to be touched up with a file. There was a substantial line-catching divot and burr in the bottom of the V on both arms. It looks like the ejectors from the mould have punched into the plastic during the extraction process. This in itself isn’t too bad as it’s an easy enough fix and at the price I wasn’t too bothered. A bigger problem is that one of them also had faulty threads and this one now resides in the bin, as I don’t have the necessary dies to clean up the threads and for £1.50 it’s not worth the hassle of sending it back. Incidentally, the ad says brass threads, but they look more like aluminium to me.As I needed some more, I ordered another five, one to replace the binned one and four to go on the rod pod. Same divot/burr issues with all five and again, one with faulty threads. So nine out of nine needed filing, two ended up in the bin. The seven that are serviceable are decent solid rests and it’s just a pity that these rests aren’t advertised as seconds, as it seems obvious to me that this is what they are. For the price they are still pretty good, otherwise I wouldn’t have ordered some more. If you buy them, be prepared for a bit of DIY.
