Perfect for Blocking - Knitting or Crochet
Perfect wires and pins to block shawls, scarves, anything with unusual shape. Worked well on big shawl with fingering weight yarn, fit through all the small stitches. Used for wet blocking, and staked out on a bed for enough room. Easy to coil back up and store in box, along with pins. Multiple sets of wires, enough for any large blocking job.

Perfect!
Perfect blocking wires! Very thin, so they are easy to thread and don't stretch out the stitches. The lengths are well-chosen, as the 70 is likely to be longer than most scarves, while the 40's are likely to be longer than at least the shorter sides of most shawls. If the knitting is curved, the wires have enough strength to provide a smooth curve.

much better than just pins
I haven't had other blocking wires (or tried the welding wires) so I can't compare, but these have worked great for me. They give a really nice straight line to the shawls I've made. The gifts I've blocked with these versus just straight pins look much nicer and more professional. They came with t-pins but I actually just use sewing pins to hold the wires out in place if I want a nice stretch in my blocking. They do make my hands "zing" a bit when using them, which means they aren't very high quality steel, they definitely have the feel of cheaper metal but I haven't had any rusting at all when using them. I do like the little plastic bag with handles that they came in - pretty thick plastic, and good for storage in the knitting closet so they don't get lost in my stash!

Love love love these blocking wires!
I received these a few days ago and used them for the first time last night to block a large shawl with a picot bind off. I used two wires (one long and one short) on the bind off edge - strung through 160 picot points. That would have taken hours with individual pins, but I managed it in about 30 minutes. Plus, I was able to adjust the wire easily to give a scalloped edge to my shawl. My cats think the wires make a swell toy, too!Wish I knew about these earlier - a true time-saver!

I wish there were instructions
Amazing wire that bounces back and doesn't link. Nice plastic storage bags.!! I'm sure there are so many uses and ways to block different shapes but there are no instructions included. Just the wires. I just faked it and stuck them in a baby blanket edges and used t pins to pull it to the shape. It did work nicely but on the tips of the zig zag edge I had no clue. So I used regular pins and blocked like that. So if you don't know how to use the wires don't expect to learn with the instructions. A little disappointing.

Cheap guitar strings, incomplete product idea
I guess I will be the first to differ from the glowing reviews here. What I received appear to be cheap guitar strings that have been hand rolled into a circle with a twist tie from a bread bag applied to hold them together. Save the tie because you will need them to do the same thing for storage if you decide to use them. When I say guitar strings I mean the unwound/smooth strings on an acoustic guitar; the top strings that I would not describe as super elastic as per the product description I read. There is no protection on the end of the wire (if you aren't familiar with guitar strings they are blunt and sharp) and no way would I put them into a lace project I spend time knitting with good yarn. You will also receive a few t-pins in a small bag. If this is all you want, try a DIY. I am returning this product. This is the beginnings of a product idea at best; unfinished and certainly overpriced as is. It needs a better quality wire with a protected end which ideally would allow you to secure the ends while blocking.

I have no idea if it is just poor quality control or if the description is wrong
This set was supposed to have 4 35" wires and 3 70" wires. My set only had 7 35" wires so, it is not what is stated in the description or what is printed on the package. I have no idea if it is just poor quality control or if the description is wrong. But, I did not get any 70" wires.

Flexible and Easy to Store
This is the second set I've purchased as I loved the first set and needed more in order to be able to block larger projects. They are very easy to use and I love that I can just wind them up and store them in the tin they come in. They are more flexible than other blocking wires I have purchased.
