Kotobukiya DC Comics: The New 52: Superman ArtFX+ Statue

Superman is, by far, my favorite character and I love almost every iteration of the character, be it in comics, TV, movies etc. However, I am not very simpathetic to this New 52 rendition. I can't understand the need for a armor for character dubbed the Man of Steel and why not go with a gold belt instead of red one, it would certainly balance the suit/armor better in my opinion. Nevertheless, I think this statue is wonderful, with a nice pose and excellent sculpt, as well as the paint job, which looks flawless. Not very happy with the manga/oriental look of Superman's face... Top quality statue, which isn't a suprise when it comes to Kotobukiya products. I definitely recommend buying.

I mean, how do you rate a statue? It sits there. Not moving. Inactive. It does exactly what I expected it to do. Which was nothing, so I got my money's worth and then some on that mark. If you're still reading this, then I suppose I should honestly tell you that the level of detail is excellent for the price. I've always been a fan of these types of statues, but they usually are too highly priced. This is an excellent statue at an excellent price. If I had one gripe, it would be that it came off as a little on the glossy side. But, that is a minor factor in my overall satisfaction. I will definitely be purchasing the rest of the new 52 DC line up. Oh, the little magnets in the statues feet to help it stand on its display base was a very nice feature.

The detail and paint on this piece are STELLAR! His belt is sculpted so well that it actually looks removable! Unfortunately, I can't get past the anime-Asian sculpt to Supe's face. Superman IS NOT ASIAN. He is everything AMERICAN that is NOT ASIAN. Everything about this figure blows me away- except his face sculpt. I plan on completing this collection because it is phenomenal. I also have Batman and Green Lantern, and am very impressed by the quality and price point of these collectibles. It just saddens my heart that the primary character in this collection is SO OUT OF CHARACTER. For those looking to collect all of these statues (or even some of these): I HIGHLY recommend Kotobukiya's ArtFX Superman. For Supe's fans that ONLY planned on buying this ONE piece: I think you can find something better suited to the character elsewhere.

This is an absolutely gorgeous statue. If you're a fan of Jim Lee's art, this is an excellent representation of his work. The colors are really deep and the details are on point---I can't find any splotched paint or smudges. But keep in mind this isn't really a toy, so be careful with it! I'm pretty sure it would break if I dropped it.

I was a little scared to purchase in the beginning since it's so cheap. It came and it's perfect. Highly detailed. I was scared that it'll have a little bit of distortion but it DOESN'T. A little light but it's not expensive so I wasn't expecting much with the weight. Awesome item though. Perfect of my BF's collection.

I was skeptical in purchasing this item because i thought i would not meet my expectations, butvi was wrong. Supes looks amazing! The vibrant colors make him stand out and the magnetic base lets him stand without falling over. If you are a superman fan i would really recommend in purchasing this item.

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for, a serious fighting pose, Superman looking dead serious. The scale is perfect for what I am trying to do (See Pics). I love the POSE and facial expression, unlike some reviews that I have read complaining about the pose and facial expression. Tell me what kind of pose and facial expression would you have while facing your DOOM (SDAY)? Like I said, perfect for what I was going for! Thank you!!! Oh, and I love the magnetic feet, they stick really well to the top of my PC tower!!!!

The quality of this figure blows me away. He's a bit shinier than Superman usually is, but it doesn't look gaudy. It's really nice, actually. The figure is sculpted very well. The detailing is superb, as is the paint. This is the third Kotobukiya figure I've purchased, and I haven't been disappointed yet. I highly recommend this line of figurines.
