I purchased The Newlywed Kitchen: Delicious Meals for Couples Cooking Together as an anniversary gift for my husband. As newlyweds, we are constantly looking for recipes catered to just the two of us and ways to cook in the kitchen together. The Newlywed Kitchen is a down to earth cookbook with recipes that are easy to follow and delicious. These are actually recipes we will and have cooked together! This cookbook has a great mix of casual and upscale recipes with down to earth ingredient. Harry's Spicy Chicken Wings are great for a crowd (like on football Sunday!) I can't wait to try the Prosciutto, Sage and Parmesan Pinwheels. Because this book does not cover the classics, it is great for the established cook. This book is a great gift for the first anniversary, when paper is the traditional gift, or for bridal showers or engagement parties. I definitely recommend this book for the newly engaged couple in your life.My opinion is 100% my own - good or bad. I hope you found this review helpful. I just made the Bourbon-Glazed Baby Back Ribs with Sweet-and-Smoky Barbecue Sauce and, if this turns out to be representative, I'm looking forward to using this cookbook a lot! The ribs were delicious but quite straightforward. The recipes in this book are for real foodies; just about every one adds some twist that a beginner cookbook wouldn't have. But the twists are easy -- bourbon and liquid smoke in the ribs, pralines instead of plain walnuts in the carrot cake and orange zest in the carrot cake icing -- and makes the final product stand out. This book is not just for newlyweds (I've been married 14 years), but for anyone who likes big flavors and wants to cook unusual but not especially complicated dishes.

If you love hot wings you will love Henry's Famous Spicy Wings. I made them for a party and they were a HIT! People could not stop eating them. They have the perfect spice and the panko adds great texture and crispiness. And who doesn't want to try an award winning mac-and-cheese? So easy and so tasty. The combo of the four cheeses makes for a creamy wonderful sauce but I think the blue cheese is what sets it apart from the average mac-and-cheese recipes. I think sometimes it's rare to find multiple favorite recipes in a cookbook. I usually find my faves in magazines but I feel lucky to have found a cookbook with so many wonderful recipes.

Bought this as a companion gift with an herb garden to give as a wedding gift to a couple that likes to cook. Didn't actually try any of the recipes, but they were fresh and creative and covered a lot of occasions. It was well received.

The item was listed as New, but it had clearly been lightly used. It had minor damage to the cover and there was a red dot on the bottom of the book. I was hoping to give this to a friend as a wedding gift, but it was certainly not gift material. I had to find another at a local bookstore. The book itself is fantastic, but this particular copy was not quite as listed.

Cute recipes, but not for classics. I think this book would be fun to work through as a monthly date-night option, but I won't be pulling any classics from it. Many of the recipes are modern versions of old-style recipes, which I could take or leave.

In great condition. There was a little bit of writing on like 2 pages but other than that, it was in great condition. Also, after it shipped, I got it the next day. It was extremely fast!

We're not newlyweds, and as I don't like people in the kitchen with me I doubt we'll do these *together* but the recipes all look delicious, and perfect for a newly-moved-in couple to entertain with.

I ordered this for a wedding gift and I'm quite please with it. I haven't looked at all the recipes but the names of each section are cute and fun. There's pictures and stories from chefs and their marriages inside,
