Halex Hedstrom 90MM Classic Bocce Set

My husband first played bocce ball on his PlayStation move game and in an attempt to get him out and give him something to do with our son I got this for him for Christmas. He loved it. The balls are great. Not too heavy, but not too light. Our 4 year old has no problem joining the game. We pull this out when we have company and everyone enjoys it. The carry case is a little lacking in quality but we haven't had any problems with it. We kept the cardboard form in it and that seems to help keep it from being stretched around and ultimately splitting seams and breaking the zipper. Very good product for the price and a fun game for all ages.

I wanted a nice set of Bocce balls for our beach vacation as I always seem to buy the ultra cheap ones that are filled with water at the local beach toys store for $15 and they last for one trip and then leak all over the place.This set gets 5 stars based on value/quality/price. They are lighter than a pro set which was good for me since I had to put them in my suitcase. However, they are not to small and light as to interfere with the game.Keep in mind, this is a family set and not for the serious Bocce baller that wants a set to professional specifications. We got our money's worth on this first trip and the balls rock solid and still look good as new.

This Bocce Ball set is made of a semi-heavy plastic. They are not filled with water so you do not have to worry about puncturing them. However, because they are made of plastic, they will get scuffs in them as you play with them. The different colors are nice so you can easily tell everyone's throws apart. The size and weight are really nice for a family. They are not too light for adults, but they are light enough to be easy and safe for the younger ones to play along with. For the price this is a great set. It even comes in a nice nylon carrying bag that zips up and has handles.

I ordered this set based on all the good reviews, but I had to send it back. When I received the product, each set of colored balls was sealed in its own plastic. The inside of the plastic was all covered in paint so I knew right off there might be a problem. I opened the plastic and the balls were filthy. Just absolutely covered in grime. So I took a paper towel to wipe them off and the paint came with it. Well it took me half a roll of paper towels to get it so that the paint wouldn't come off so easily on my hands, but by that time I decided that I don't want that toxic residue all over the hands of my child. Not to mention, what if we were playing on grass that's slightly wet? No thank you.

The first thing I did, after opening the brown cardboard box it was shipped in, was gently pick up the supplied red carrying bag by its handle. This ripped the bag wide open. The balls themselves are way lighter weight than any I have ever played with before (which might be okay for young kids, but not for me). This is the first item I will have ever returned to Amazon.

For backyard and park use while camping this set will do just fine. Yes they have some chips, and the little yellow ball is tiny (we have substituted this ball with tennis ball/baseball. For recreational purpose and non-competitive cutthroat gambling people this set would work just fine. I am happy with the weight of the balls and love that four people can play!

this is a great set for the not-so-serious bocce ballers. We have used it at the beach for one week and they held up well and I can see us getting a good amount of use from this set. The bag it came in, however, ripped after a few days use and we will have to find something else to store/transport them in.

With lots of young boys in the family, and camping trips on the horizon, this was a terrific purchase. However, I must say the storage bag is not going to make it through our first camping trip.I should have spent more for the set with the more durable plastic carrying case

Easy to carry around and fun, durable and not too expensive. Being non metal is good too for the kids, less heavy.
