Freeze Dried Sausage - 2.1 Pound Can

Taste is great! The crumbles are small enough that they hydrate quite well. But the really cool thing about these sausage crumbles is that they are great right out of the can! Nice and crunchy, good for snacking.I bought this for backpacking and I think it will work well in a variety of recipes to add flavor and calories, with a minimum of weight, on long hikes.

I have to ROLL MY EYES at the 'customers?' who said they "Snack" on this stuff! But,HERE is the reality!: It's not quite as packable as powdered product, but it's light. While you can 'snack' on it, it does have some taste dry. That taste is even better when it's cooked (Hot/boiling water and left to stand). But where it REALLY shines is as part of a dish (i.e. in an omelet, a burrito, or in some other food).

I bought this for backpacking trips. I generally cook using Freezer bag recipes. Breakfast usually consists of bulk Mountain house scrambled Eggs with bacon split out into individual servings. I add in this sausage to some of those bags to get extra protein and switch it up a bit. What can I say other than it is delicious and re-hydrates very nicely.

Great for camping! Pretty decent taste.

Happy New Year! I bought this a while back but have not had the time to use it until today. I made 2 cups with one cup of ground beef and 2 teaspoons of A.C. Legg's Breakfast Maple Sausage seasoning and extra red pepper flakes. Delicious! I wish I hadn't waited so long! Now that I can make my own mix of sausage, I may think twice about buying the ready-made stuff.

I use this to add some flavor to my backpacking meals. I mixed this product with couscous, freeze dried veggies and powdered chicken/tomato stock in a individual vacuum pack. I simply cut a hole in top of packaging, added the rigt amount of hot/boiling water - let it stand - and had a tasty meal with meat in minutes. No cooking. Just be sure not to use added salt. between this product and the powedered stock - that is enough salt.

Re-hydrates easy, tastes great. Used in eggs and in mac and cheese. Tastes great. Not greasy and did I mention it tastes great. Full, rich sausage flavor. I will be buying several more for long term storage.Terry

Great Taste, and I love how great of a shelf life this product has. I 've purchased other brands of Freeze Dried Sausage, and this one is my Favorite. Tastes just like Sausage. Perfect for Long Term Storage!
