Encore Plastics 82130 Paintin' Pal EZ Pour Spout, 5-Gallon

Have used these before and they work great. A little difficult to install securely. Couldn't find them at the hardware stores so I bought them here at an inflated price.

I had to use a file on Sherwin Williams 5 gal. metal cans to get it to fit, but once I got it installed, I really like it. So much more convenient to get product out of can without a mess.

Saved me a lot of paint & cleanup. I like that it's convertible for threaded or snap-in bungs. I used it for a snap-in (Cabot 5 gallon) bucket & had no leakage around the spout.

Screws onto the small port of a 5 gal paint lid. Just could have a better seal where the cap goes on. It's fairly tight, but just plastic to plastic. I used a small piece of plastic wrap put over the spout first, then put the cap over that. Works fine.This spout makes pouring paint out much easier and mess free.

Really helps control mess when pouring paint from 5 Gal pails. It seals tightly on the lid so it can be kept on the pail. Only thing to keep in mind when pouring is to not let the pour spout hit something because it could pop off the lid. Other than that it is foolproof . Great value for the money. I plan on getting more.

I has two separate 5 gallon buckets of Behr paint that I intended to use this spout for. The first time I screwed this onto the bucket's tint opening, it worked ok. Started to leak around the rim but still worked. Then when it came time to swap to the new bucket of paint and this spout just wouldn't catch the threading and kept falling off as I tried to pour out paint. Spilling paint everywhere, which was a waste. After cleaning up the paint and the spout itself, I tried to use plumber's teflon tape to secure the spout to the bucket's threading and it worked for ONE pour. Then, there was another disastrous spill and more wasted paint. I spent more time cleaning up spilled paint than I did actual painting that day. I ended up duck taping the spout to the bucket since it's the last bucket I need to use and will likely throw this spout away after this project is done.I generally think the intention of this spout makes for cleaner execution than actually opening the lid of a 5 gallon bucket of paint BUT there are design flaws. This spout does NOT fit universally on all buckets. It may work on some brands better than others but it will NOT work with Behr paint so keep that in mind. If only the manufacturer can update the design so the spout's threading is not as shallow and can screw on more securely to many types of paint buckets, this would be worth buying again.

Bought this thinking it would fit a 5-gallon timber oil bucket. The cap to screw on the bucket is way smaller than this.

I used this in a tint plug application and had worried about reviews that said it came off too easy. I found that it snapped in as well as the tint plug and was secure. You should still be careful not to knock it around too much. A tint plug snaps in flat to the lid, but this spout protrudes 4 inches from the lid so it will take less force to knock off. I always struggle to pout from a new 5 gallon paint bucket and waste more paint than I like almost every time I pour paint. This spout makes pouring easier to control and I only waste the smallest of paint when I pour. Just a few drops when I wipe the spout after pouring. I also love the cap for the spout, It saves me from using a paint rag or piece of saran wrap in between pours. I can leave the spout and cap on until the bucket is empty as it is air tight. The cap just slips on over spout so be careful when moving. Only wish is that the cap snapped or screwed on.
