Used these for two years
I love these pants, because before I bought these, I had tried about twelve different type of knee pads. All of them would fall down to my ankles after several bends of my knees. I gave up on knee pads, but after working for an hour or two on my knees, they would ache for the next day or so. Finally I got to the point where my knees would not heal. They would hurt all the time. Worse if I installed base, or worked on my knees for an extended period,of time. I seriously wondered how long I could be able to,stand the pain, before I would have change careers. Then I tried these pants. The pads are always in the right place. They can,t fall down. After wearing these to work every day, my knees healed. For the most part my knees don,t hurt anymore. When they do get sore, they usually heal in 24hours. What I don,t like about them is the foam pads wear out rather quickly. I have tried two other companies foam pads and they all feel the same. I would like to see them made out of a denser foam. I haven,t tried the gel pads because of,unfavorable reviews. Another fault I find is when you kneel , it puts stress on the pants about two, inches above the pad pocket. This is where they tear after a while. I first tried the thinner material pants , and they worked on my knees, they tore at said spot within three months, the second pair did the same. I bought the heavier material pants and they lasted about one year before tearing. Much better value. I think they should incorporate some elastic type material just above knee , or fortify this area with much heavier piece of fabric. This is why I didn't give it 5 stars. Also I have noticed that the waist size seems awfully tight compared to other pants I have. I wear a 36 waist, but I get a 38 waist with blaklader.

Common sense knee protection
My knees are bad and I never liked the strap-on knee pads because they tended to cut of circulation when kneeling. I had often thought that someone should make pants with knee pad pockets and finally found the Blaklader pants on Amazon. Although a little pricey, they are very well made and make working on your knees a pleasure. I purchased the heavy duty pads and they are a little stiff, but work well protecting the knees. In addition, there are plenty of pockets, including exterior front pockets that I'd never thought about before. These keep larger items handy without having extra constriction around the waist when bending. Highly recommend.

I love these pants
I love these pants. Their comfortable and durable and have plenty of pockets. The exterior pouches are great, and they fit into the regular pockets so these can look more or less like regular pants when I'm not at work. The kneepad inserts (which are a separate purchase) are great, but a bit of a tight fit in the pocket. My only complaint is that they're meant to be worn with the waistband on the navel, not on the hips. You might want to buy a size shorter if you don't wear your pants that high (I don't.) Because of this, the kneepads end up a bit low on me, and I have to pull them up a bit each time I kneel down at work.

Great heavy-duty work pants
FIT: These trousers are sized dead-on. That being said, the waist is fairly high so they will probably sit just under your naval. I find this fit a little uncomfortable and would prefer waistband closer to my hips. Unless you normally wear your trousers this high you will probably need to go up a size. I comfortably wear size 36 Levi's (559, low waist) but had to get a 38 for the Blakladers.KNEEPADS: I love not having to suffocate under external kneepads but I found Blaklader's implementation a little wanting. The kneepad is smaller than the pocket so it would frequently move to the (knee-inside) side of the pocket and my knee would roll off to the outside when I kneel. Still better than using external kneepads but it does get annoying. It seems other manufacturers have taken steps to address this issue.OVERALL: I would definitely recommend these pants with the above caveats noted. The Brawny's are very heavy cotton and are quite warm so I'll be using them as my winter pants and I'll get one of the lighter styles for summer. I also want to find Skillers/Snickers or Marmot to compare but they seem to be harder to find in the US.

Camptastic Pants!!!
What a great pair of pants for the camping fiend! These pant hold up to just about anything you can throw at them. I wore these pants on a 475 mile trip up the Kuskokwim river in Alaska to do some camping and photography work. These pants kept me warm, kept the wind out and are so sturdy one does not worry whether or not they'll hold up. They do. I just ordered another pair. I highly recommend these pants to anyone that loves the outdoors and needs pants that will hold the quality over the test of time.

The best work pants out there.
These are the best work pants I've ever owned. The pockets are huge and incredible useful, especially when wearing a harness. The built in knee pads (optional) are an absolute life saver. I'll never go back to another work pant. Just make sure you order a size up from what you normally wear, they are not true to size.

Hands down the best work pant I have ever owned
Hands down the best work pant I have ever owned. I will only ever wear these pants. I was thinking I would cut pockets off,as I bought these pants for the integrated knee pad, but have found them so damn functional. They also have the best pocket system of any other pant. Whatever you put In stays in.

Love Blaklader, but the fit of these is off
I had hoped that these would fit like the Rough-Rider and Heavy Duty Blaklader pants that I have, but unfortunately they have the very high rise (waist) of the Bantams. When they are loaded down with tools and fasteners, having the waist that high just doesn't work for me at all. If only they'd had the right fit.
