Warehouses are often seen as a necessary evil: places that stop the flow of goods and thus increase costs without adding value. But the truth is that they have a critical part to play in supply chain management, and warehouse managers should be centrally involved in the strategic aspects of any business. Excellence in Warehouse Management covers everything you need to know to manage warehouse operations as part of a streamlined and holistic system, fine-tuned to serve the customer and drive the bottom-line. With thinking points, self-assessment exercises and case studies Stuart Emmett challenges you to consider your own operations in a new way, and plot a course into the future. Review: Get one. It's a very good book - Very good book.I call on all interested in Warehouse Logistics to get a copy.Shipment was super and fast. Will buy more from the Author. Review: Flowracking my brain for a title. - As good as any textbook on warehouse management could possibly be. I'd kill myself if I had to write warehouse management textbooks for a living. I'm giving this book 5-Stars in case the author is still living. Maybe it will bring him a shred of joy for a few moments.

A well written book - although as time moves on some out of date areas
The difficulty with writing any book like this is the principles dont change but the technology available has moved on at such a fast pace most of these areas are becoming irrelevant - unfortunately it is the pace of change and not the fact that this book is well written and covers off many areas in a style which is easy to understand and not too full of jargon.

Warehouse Managment
The book is a good read as an introdution to the topic, very good (and rather unusual) is the section on ICT and People Management. In general, there is not much an experienced warehouse manager can take from it as there are not enough details.
