Clear can be topcoated over Colorcoat, works and looks great!
I used this product in conjunction with the Saddle Tan color coat for my project. My fiberglass upper windows came primed and I prepped, did the color, then the clear. SEM makes a good product and will assist with questions. I did a significant amount of research before reaching out to SEM to see if their product would suit my needs. I described my project and they answered my technical questions regarding prep, set, intended substrate, durability etc. Photos attached. I used this for Wrangler TJ fiberglass uppers from Bulldawg Manufacturing. SEM color coat is not technically paint, however its not like plasti-dip that will easily rub off either. The quality of the spray can works very well and sprays a quality pattern that is easy to guide. The coverage is solid and it goes on thick so best to use quick light coats that dry quickly. Once you read the instructions, the key is to prep properly, lightly sand primer with 400 grit and then go over it with a tac cloth. Ensure ambient temperature is adequate for proper drying as well!

OEM Feel & Essential Protection From Scratches!
Leaves a very professional finish with an OEM-feel! No complaints except the nozzle is finicky and can spatter if your pointer finger isn’t well-practiced on the exact center. Take breaks to avoid stirring up the aerosol too much and you’ll improve your chances of a spatter-free clear coat!

Good added protection
A must have if you're repainting interior. Provides extra protection from being scratched and sun damage. Can goes a pretty long way as you only need 3 very light coats. I did interior in satin sheen to resemble factory sheen.

Outstanding results with this brand!
We purchased all the spray products, from the adhesion promoter, primer, color coat, and clear coat satin finish. In addition to following the can direction, we also followed some very specific technique directions we found on the internet, about painting plastic dashboards (which was the project). Basically, follow all can directions, GENTLY and LIGHTLY WET sand the surfaces with 800 grit, dry, and clean well with alcohol before starting. Start with adhesion promoter, follow can instruction. Then spray primer, color, and clear coat in 2 - 3 very light coats, each, and when you finish all primer coats, wait 24 hours to start color coats, and do the same when color coats are done, and you are ready to clear coat the piece(s). We allowed all of that to dry for 48 hours, before reinstalling. It looks wonderful. Not like we just spray painted a dash. It's a hard finish, and no chips or scratches when it was re-installed in the vehicle. Compared to spray paint, it's a little pricey, but it was well worth every penny.

Ok, but pricey.
Make sure you thoroughly shake this before you use it. More than the minute it says on the can. Otherwise, you'll get clumps of paint coming out.

Go SEM or Go Home
In my review for Satin Black, the gloss I bought paired with that to restore my dash in a 1980 Ford. Gloss adds just the right sheen and protection. SEM is an excellent product IF you follow their process. Do your homework, and prep properly. You will not be disappointed.

This clear coat product is excellent. It sprays on smoothly - no sudden blobs - and gives your colour coat a perfect finish. I would recommend SEM products.
