Works well for my situation.I used this splitter to send an HDMI signal from my Roku streaming unit to my TV (and it's speakers) for watching news and some shows. Then a separate signal to my receiver when I want to watch a movie on Netflix or Vudu. (no audio pass through with receiver off)My only problem so far (haven't owned very long) is the audio is not starting inconsistently when I switch to TV. Easy fix by starting the movie/episode over again. Apparently, no audio due to a handshake issue.

Met and even exceeded my expectation. Picture quality was maybe slightly improved. Would buy again.

It worked for the first 10 minutes nicely, then went completely DEAD. Return for refund.
