Haley Strategic Partners D3 FlatPack Assault Pack Backpack with Straps

Solid pack. I've worked in the mil/law enforcement/contractor/gov field for over 15 years. My "carry on" bag is a bit overkill. It's a quality pack from the Source, but looks like a cheap PX issued day pack and it quite large. This pack from HSP is just big enough to fit what I need, has the quality to match the premium stuff from the Source, but doesn't scream "I just got out of boot camp, give me free sh!t". I use it daily to hold the usual stuff (wallet, eye pro, tobacco, warming layer, mags) and it has plenty of space to add the airport stuff like headphones, iPad, jacket. It's bigger than it looks, just not quite big enough to fit a 13" Macbook. Both compartments expand.

Great pack! Expands to double its original volume. If you plan to mount this to your plate carrier this (regular) or the larger one is fine. The grey has no molle webbing on back for direct attachment but u can still use the grey one with the shoulder straps to connect with Haley’s micro rig (perfect color match) or use spiritus system micro chest rig (a little lighter in color). As edc I would go with the larger pack as I would opt more to carry daily instead of mount to my carrier (since back is padded on both sizes) vs the other colors.

I purchased a Haley Strategic Partners D3 Flatpack in grey after watching several product and kit reviews on youtube.I was surprised seeing as I could purchase it on Amazon so I did.I received it in an surprising short amount of time (less than 3 days!!!) which is awesome!However the backpack came missing one of the zippered pull tabs. There was also some splotchy waxy looking splatter spots on the surface but scratched off easily.This in-of-itself wouldn't make me leave a 1 start review, however I see Amazon has made it so that there is no way to return the product due to damage that isn't related to shipping, nor contact the seller to see about a replacement pull strap. It's either return the item completely or suck it up.So a 1 star review is what this product gets, not for the product, but for the Amazon Experience™.

This is the neatest micro ruck I've ever carried. I bought this in grey and without any velcro on the outside to avoid the tacticool look.First, some dimensions starting from the backside. The black mesh padding for the back is comfortably soft and quick drying. The main compartment can be used for a hydration bladder. The main compartment is 13" high by 8" wide by 5" deep when fully unzipped all the way around and has a single drainage hole in the bottom. The next compartment forward is an envelope pouch with zippered opening that is 13" high by 8" wide. The next compartment is 8.5" wide by 7" high by 2" deep when fully unzipped all around. The last exterior compartment is an envelope pouch that is 8" wide by 7" high. The zippers function easily and quietly without snagging. Instead of noisy metal zipper pulls, these zipper pulls are thin nylon cords attached to a polymer-like tab.I've worn this daily for the past month or so to carry my EDC stuff. It can carry a lot of gear comfortably without feeling bulky or heavy. The Haley team really thought through this piece of kit: a micro rucksack that expands or contracts as needed and can be connected to the D3CRX chest rig.The tendency with most folks humping a ruck, be it civilian backpackers or military types, is to carry way too much stuff. The HSP Flatpack forces you to radically rethink your loadout so that you are carrying the minimal amount of gear necessary to accomplish the mission at hand, whether you are day hiking or door kicking.It's a tad spendy but very well conceived and constructed.

My flatpack cane damaged. One of the vest straps looks like it was ripped out. I found a peice of the strap in the bag. Great product overall. Just wish it didn’t come damaged

Rock star equipment meeting my needs. I travel a lot and love how the pack will hold the chest rig until I need it. The expandable pockets make for convenient adjustable storage, and the whole gig travels incognito very well. Well designed and constructed, Haley Strategic!

For those unfamiliar with Haley Strategic products, this is a purpose built pack. Small dimensions. Shallow to medium depth, as it is expandable and collapsable. Includes 3 storage locations, and the primary/largest location offers a pouch to house a 1L (7.5" x 11") hydration bladder; an exit for the hydration bladder hose.For those familiar w/Haley Strategic products, when comparing against the other color options, this gray version does not offer a velcro area for patches. Otherwise, no differences. A great EDC due to its durability, reliability, and low profile.The only con is focused around the pack's straps. The straps are thin and narrow, but to be clear has no effect to its durability. However, due to the nature of the size of the straps, the pack can easily slip off of the shoulders. If you intend to utilize the full chest rig, I would expect the straps slipping to be negated, obviously. Though, to be clear, I do not yet own the chest rig and cannot speak first hand.
