Perfect for small camper cabinets near the ceiling.
The shock kind are for doors much bigger and heavier. I like that these are adjustable and good for smaller doors. The mount can go backwards which allows it to be installed on a thin edge for when there are multiple doors and no inner wall. That does have a draw back. The hinge then needs to go a little bit into the cabinet when closed. Not too much, but if you install backwards, it will stick in a bit.The instructions are not very helpful. The order of the plastic washers, the screw, the hinge, and the mount is not clear. They must be in the correct order, and the bracket must face the right way. It is screw, washer, hinge, washer, and then the bracket with the threads farthest away. The washers have a smaller side that fits inside the hinge hole. If you mount from the wrong side of the bracket, the screw will end up very loose. The measurements are a good start, but I did not find them to work for me. It was easier to screw the T shaped mount to the side of the cabinet opening and then hold the hinge in place while finding the best place to put the other bracket on the door. For the T shaped bracket, I folded the hinge and made sure it would clear the top of the cabinet inside and put the bracket on the cabinet frame right in that spot. For the other bracket, I opened the cabinet as far as I wanted, and then held the hinge in place and marked the holes of that bracket on the door. I made sure it would clear the side edge also. If you get the bracket to close to the edge, the hinge will it the edge when closing the door.I have 6 of these installed and all work great. They hold the door up next to the ceilingwhile we can use both hands to put things in the cabinets.

They work - but not fancy or special
I bought these to replace a chain on a drop down kitchen cabinet door which is approximately 14" by 36".Installation wasn't hard - but, then again, I am a decent mechanic. I converted the metric to inches and still tested them before I drilled. The price is certainly right and they do the job - they will stop the door from tearing off. However, the feel is slightly crude in terms of the action. They are nothing like the gas type and others where you see people in videos giving them a little push and having them open or close.I have one more door to do but I am not sure if I am going to use these or try to go a bit fancier.Update - the action seemed to get better after a day or two of breaking in...I am going to order a second set for the other drop down door.

Very poor directions.
It seems to be OK, but there is very little in the way of directions; many parts, but no directions on how they go together. It wouldn't be that hard for them to include a simple piece of paper, or maybe a link here to download directions. No email address to ask, no apparent website.

difficult to figure out which way to install, but they work awesome once you get them in right!
I bought them to put on cabinet doors. I built the cabinets myself for in my van. I wanted the doors to flip up and out of the way, right up to the ceiling and they do that now and stay up. The allen wrench enclosed make them adjustable so you can make them stay up tight (does that make sense?) I only needed to use one on each cabinet door to hold them up, but the doors are light weight - 1/2" plywood and the largest ones only measure 2' x 21". The look really nice. I then had extras and I tried to install one on a friends window that opened in this same fashion, but the window sill was not deep enough to handle the clearance needed for the hardware to swing in when closed. You need a bit of depth - like in a cabinet (my cabinets are 12" deep) - the window sills were not more than 4-5 inches deep and the hardware did not fit right. I am 100% happy with their look and performance on my cabinets however.

Great concept, OK implementation
The supports work and one holds up a 23" x 30" half inch plywood lid to a bench. I was able to configure it to give me 90 degrees of travel and still fit in a shallow cabinet when the lid is closed and support folded. It takes quite a lot of thinking to figure out the mounting to give you the desired angle of opening and control the folded angle. It is very flexible to accomplish this but is not simple and you will need to figure out on your own, directions provided don't explain this.

Good for cabinet door on small opening
Used only one of the two support hinges for a small vacant area above the microwave in my Winnebago Access 29T Class C RV. I turned the vacant spot into a cabinet for storage. Opening in the pic is only 5 1/4 inches high and 20 1/4 wide. The door I made was so light there was no need for the second support hinge. The other cabinet doors in the RV use a brass piston like support which are easy to find here on Amazon but they are too large for a small opening and small door like this.Hinge was very easy to install and works flawlessly. Will be interested to see how well it works after a year or so of bumpy cross the country diving.

Hinge
Nice hold open for small door, the drawback is the directions. They are almost worthless. You have to play with it until you figure the way it should go together

Hard to install
A little hard to install. No good instructions. Had pics on package with measurements but hard to see and measurements didn't work. After several tries finally made them work. Shouldn't be that difficult to add better instructions.
