Genuine Sony Rechargeable Battery BP-HP800-11 for SONY MDR-RF995RK, MDR-RF995R, WH-RF400, MDR-RF895RK Wireless Headphones

I have just installed the battery and it is working well. There are cheaper ones available, but I like original parts when I can get them.

Starting to learn about NiMH batteries. It appears that checking the voltage is not a reliable method to determining if the battery is good. My old battery seemed to charge to normal voltage but would not handle any load. I was skeptical that a new battery pack would fix the problem since the unloaded voltage check was ok. But my headset is working fine now with the new pack.

Thought my headphones were broken. Turns out they just needed this new battery. It's been charging and working without issues.

These OEM Sony replacement headphone battery packs are very convenient but slightly more expensive. The only reason for being short one star is because I had to install a thin shim between the cover and battery pack as it would not maintain contact when the cover was replaced. Over the past 20 years, I have purchased 4 of these headsets. They are great. Improvements have been made from the first set I purchased. Although the cushions covering the ear pad have improved, they still have a durability issue. I have a set in my living room and one in my bedroom. Start to finish charge time is 7 hours. They are professional looking and commanding performance. Battery life seems to be about 6-7 years.
