Fox 40 Pearl Safety Referee Whistle, Black

This whistle is nice, but pretty loud. This is a whistle that when sounding, have to turn your head away from player before handing ball to them on inbound.

This whistle works well as it is a lower pitch compared to the whistles the other coaches have. Perhaps it is better being a lower pitch but was not exactly the sound I was expecting.

We use these whistles for our leaders in our church ministries. Raising voices and yelling to get kids/teens attention isn't something we want to do. A whistle is a good way to get kids attention, start and stop games, etc. The best whistles we've used, easy to sanitize each week, loud and no ball in the middle to get messed up.

Always liked the Classic Fox 40, the mini fits my referee pants better and a smaller profile makes access easier. Having a second (backup) whistle close at hand with the same sound as the larger whistle is the reason for the purchase.

I participate in a dog sport called Flyball. With dozens of dogs in a building barking, this whistle is loud enough for competitors to hear.

Pitch is not the low one I envisioned. I wanted low/deep, this is annoying midrange. Gave away the two I got. Still looking for a whistle that doesn't make my ears bleed...
