OXO Good Grips Precision Batter Dispenser

Whenever I make pancakes, I end up with all different size pancakes while dribbling pancake batter across the counter / griddle. Oxo always makes quality products so I chose this Oxo dispenser. I've used it once so far & it works really well. I mix up the batter in a Pyrex bowl ahead of time so the wide-mouth opening is appreciated. Some dispensers do not have a wide opening & if you're dumping from a bowl, you may have a mess. I don't find the lid necessary, but it's also used to sit the dispenser on between batches so it'll catch any drips. Unlike other reviews, I didn't experience much dripping at all. My homemade batter is thick. If your batter is thin, it might drip, simply due to the design where it pours out. Any batter remaining in the tiny funnel dispensary will likely drip out a bit. There would be no way to avoid that. I did find that as I neared the end of the batter, I needed to use a spoon or spatula to push the remaining amount out of the hole, but again, my pancake batter is pretty thick. Overall, I find this dispenser easy to use and mess-free. It's quick to clean as well.

Im not a kitchen gadget girl- I think that most gadgets are a waste of space. But THIS is the best! It’s super useful and makes perfect round pancakes. Works so easy, my 9 year old was using it with ease! My only wish is that you could mix the pancake batter in the product. I didn’t try that- but can’t see how it would work because the dispenser part would hold a bunch of mix that wouldn’t get stirred up because you couldn’t reach a spoon down there. (I don’t think at least). Hey the product has markers on it for measurements so it appears that was the intention. Cleans easily. It is great!

Loved it until it broke. Bought a few years ago. Used it about a dozen times for pancake batter. Fantastic concept, making pouring badder super easy and mess free. Handle at spring level broke off main body, thus ruining the entire mechanism. Unsure whether I’ll buy same one again or shop around a different brand, but love the overall style.

This is the best batter dispenser on the market. Oxo nailed it with the crimp spout. Easy to use! Lid doubles as a drip tray. Only drips 1 drop if you wait a second after the pour. Very easy to clean! HIGHLY recommend!

[Update] It lasted exactly 13 months. I used this maybe 1-2 times a month and LOVED it, until yesterday when it finally broke on me. Long story short: DO NOT USE WITHOUT THE LID. Looks like the internal spring is way overpowered for the thickness of the plastic without the lid in place. The lid actually seems to provide counter-resistance to the spring when you squeeze the handle. I was in a hurry yesterday and wanted my batter to flow faster, so I used it without the lid, thinking the faster air displacement would accelerate filling my cupcake cups, but then I heard: CRAAAACK. It split right where the spring is. The dispenser alone doesn’t have the strength to resist breaking under pressure from the spring, it needs the extra resistor from the lid to have structural integrity, otherwise it fails on you. Even when you’re hand-washing it, do not squeeze the handle, except gently to remove and replace the silicone valve. I’ll probably buy a new one and never make this mistake again. [Original review] I used to hate making pancakes. Dealing with a ladle to distribute the batter was messy and hard to control. This dispenser made the job SO much neater. I especially love using it for cupcakes! I have a chocolate cupcake batter that is particularly runny and hard to dispense neatly into cups, and this dispenser made that job infinitely easier, as well. And I haven't tried this yet, but I see no reason why I can't use this to make a funnel cake, too! I'm considering getting a second one so I can swirl different flavors together. The only downside is that soapy water gets inside the handle when you're washing it and it's hard to ensure it rinses and drains properly, but it's otherwise a great product.

This product is great! Used it for pancakes today and it was seamless. No mess, easy to use and control the size of pancakes. Will use this gor cupcakes and muffins too.
